May #bloggerbliss

May has been an incredibly busy, but wonderful month!  I haven’t had a chance to blog much lately and I have some changes being made as I type, but I’m excited to be here for Bliss!  I love sharing my favorite things from the month and I hope you do too!  Link-up below with me and Meg!

I spent a lot of time with these two pups this month!  I stayed with Nick’s sister-in-law since for a week this month.  These two LOVE some attention.  They were helping me apply for a part time job at our local Y.  I haven’t purchased a membership to a gym yet because I’d love to just work part-time at one and get a free membership – that’s not looking too good though.  Oh well.

Also, Nick’s sister-in-law had her parents in town during the month.  They knew I was staying with her for a few days and so while they were all at lunch together, they sent her home with a cookie for me!  Truly the way to my heart forever!
It was so delicious!  I tried to eat just half of it at work, but that baby was gone before I knew it!
Nick and I went to Florida as a “graduation present” of sorts for him, so we of course went to Disney World!!  Per usual, we had a blast!  We really wanted to try one of these gigantic cinnamon rolls at Gaston’s Tavern and it did NOT disappoint.  Luckily, we’re extremely active at Disney, so we burned those calories right off… maybe?
Speaking of Nick’s graduation, that did in fact happen and I’m so proud of him!! He’ll be continuing on to Grad School now, yay!!!
During the month of May, I also raised $306 for Diabetes and completed my 25 mile bike ride!! Everything about that day was perfect!  The ride was perfect, the weather was perfect, everything was perfect!  I’m so glad Nick snapped this great picture of my coming in from the race!
I was in Starkville this past weekend and we did some grocery shopping for Nick before I left.  He was trying to come up with good breakfast options that require minimal dishes.  I remembered this microwave egg cooker that I thought he’d enjoy and we found it at Walmart.  He sent me a picture yesterday saying that it worked out really well and he enjoyed his egg sandwich this yesterday morning!

This month has been really great and I had a lot of favorite moments (not as many favorite things).  I’m so thankful for the people in my life and joy they bring me!
Let’s see what your favorites were for the month, link-up below!

Man, where has the time gone!! I missed another week of blogging!  I’m housed up in the Starbucks on campus today, enjoying an iced caramel macchiato… and semi-enjoying this apple fritter.  It’s been a long weekend here in Starkville.  This weekend was Super Bulldog Weekend, so the town was filled with visitors (including myself) and events have been going on non-stop!  My legs are exhausted.  You know that exhausted feeling where you are not actually tired (sleepy tired), but your body is completely tired and worn out?  That’s my body right now.

I just wanted to hop in and say hi today, honestly because I missed it last week!  Every night was busy last week and I just didn’t make my way to the computer.  I’m hoping to get some scheduled posts up today though so I don’t neglect this space for so long!

I have a lot of events going on this week that I’m super excited about.  Here’s to hoping I’m a decent enough blogger to take pictures and have blog worthy material!  I have an event on Tuesday night to raise money for a local child that was diagnosed with Pompe Disease.  There will be a silent auction and free food/drinks.  You have to buy a ticket to go, but that ticket gets you entered in a drawing to win…. *drumroll* A DISNEY VACATION! or…. A CRUISE!! So yeah, not only am I giving money to a great cause, I may leave with the greatest prize ever!  I’ll keep you posted!  Thursday night, Collette and I are going to a Sushi making class at Whole Foods, so I seriously plan on blogging about that!  It could be a success or a failure, who knows!?

Anyways, I’m off to plan a trip and to work on some blog posts while I have the time – your daily dose of inspiration is the bible verse below!  Enjoy and have a great Sunday!

Just the Facts.

I wasn’t sure what I was going to write about today until I posted this tweet and a genius idea was born.
@hblack79 why stop at two!!!? 😉

 Here are some facts:
+ Like previously mentioned: A grilled cheese is always better with 2 slices of cheese.  There is debate that it could be better with more, although I haven’t personally tested that fact for myself.
+ I’m coming down with a sinus cold.  Similar to the sinus cold I had on my trip to Disney over Christmas.  I’m not happy about this one bit.

+ Some very close friends of mine are moving to Florida.  I’ll be visiting as often as possible and there will always be at least one trip to Disney per visit.

+ I consume way more Reese’s than my body appreciates.

+ The filming of Fast & Furious 7 will resume shorty and I’m half excited, half sad…. it will just NOT be the same.

+ Banana Pineapple smoothies are the shiz… like unbelievably delicious.  My mom made one the other night and it was amazing.  Next time, we’re going to pair it with some coconut milk and I’m hoping it will whisk me away to an island somewhere.  Seriously.  Go make yourself a Banana Pineapple Smoothie.  Jackpot – I just found this recipe from Dole: Check that out!

+ Girl Scout Cookies are good…. BUT they’re not how I totally remember them.  I’m not sure they’re worth the $3.75 these days.  When I was a girlscout, they were $2.50/box.  That’s reasonable.  I think they were more delicious back then too.  Maybe my memory doesn’t serve me correctly though?

+ I need to re-paint my toes.  Luckily, last time I went with a palish/nudish/pinkish color and so you can’t really tell… but it’s time.

+ My 25th birthday is in less than a month.  Home girl is having a Disney themed birthday party.

+ Newk’s has the best mac and cheese.  I’ve already eaten 2 grilled cheese sandwiches tonight, part of a Reese’s…. bar.  And my parents are going to dinner at Newk’s.  I’m contemplating the extra calories because they’re oh so good and hey… it’s free.  #yesimashamed  #alsogettingfatter

+ I have not been on a regular workout routine in way too long.  The weather has been ridiculous here.  Constantly getting sick from the temp changes, experiencing 10-20 degree weather that I’m no where near use to, and lacking a gym membership due to this thing called first, unemployment, and second, trying to save some money.

+ I finally have a job and a great one at that… maybe I should invest in that gym membership now?  Oh, but I’m still living with the parentals… so then there’s the whole “which gym will be the closest to where I end up moving in the next few months?”  Oh, the debacle.

What facts do you have to share with me on this fine day?
