Need some Sunday reads? I found a few good ones!

Are you looking for some Sunday reading?  I’ve found some of my favorite reads from the past few days!

Nothing to do with this post, but I spot a super cute kitty by the fire.   And don’t you love to curl up with a good read by the fire?  I sure do!

Do you struggle with “finding your niche”?  Maybe this post will ease your mind when it comes to constraints on blogging!

Do you agree that blogging can be weird sometimes?  I have no doubt that others are thinking crazy about me when I talk about blogging… Here are 5 reasons that blogging is really weird!

Do you find yourself being “too busy” for others or the important things in life?  Well, the truth is… you’re NOT too busy.

Are you saying NO to change?  Transformation can be difficult, but maybe can find comfort in this post.

I am drooling over these Pumpkin Chocolate Cupcakes! YUM!

Do you have a motto?  I think this motto is pretty great and I think it’s important to have one for yourself!

That one time I went hiking and camping

In Throwback Thursday fashion (#tbt), I decided to share my camping/hiking experience from years ago!

I’m one of those girls that wishes she was an outdoorsy person, but really isn’t.  Seriously… my greatest fear of the outdoors are bugs (specifically ants and ticks).  Ants because they are just crawly and all over the place… like ALL.OVER.THE.PLACE!  It’s ridiculous.  And ticks… because you don’t even feel them.  How scary is that?
They can latch on and you’d never know!  Which, during this trip, I was extremely careful and cautious, wearing bug spray like my life depended on it (because honestly, in my mind… it did!) and I still ended up with a tick at the end of the trip!  omg… it was dreadful!

Anyways… hiking, I love.  Camping, I’m not the biggest fan.  I really do try because it’s something I want to enjoy, but I struggle.  I’ve been trying to go hiking for a while now because I enjoy the fact that I’m always on the move with it, but I haven’t had the chance yet.  I have ended up camping a night or two since this event, but I got some really great pictures that never made it to the blog, so I wanted to share those with you!  We went camping/hiking back in… 2008?  Yeah, 2008.

We met up in Atlanta and stayed a night with my Aunt & Uncle, the next day the boys went White Water Rafting while Patty and I enjoyed shopping and the Sex & the City movie in theater.  We then met up to go backpacking for the next few days covering 10-11 miles per day.  Luckily, Patty and I were miserable on separate days so the boys didn’t have to deal with 2 hormonal angry women on the same day.  Honestly, I’m surprised these guys still even wanted to be my friend after this experience, but I’m happy to say that we did NOT hate each other after the trip.  Patty, Matt, Nick, and I headed back to Atlanta a little early to spend the night at my nanny’s.  Patty and I were tired of sleeping in a tent and were ready to get back home.

Now that I’m in better shape than I was back then, I think I may enjoy a long hiking and camping experience a little more these days.  I’d be willing to give it another shot.  I also think I handle experiences a little better now and try to enjoy things more. So if I get the chance to do something like this again, I’ll be sure to blog about it!

Prepare for picture overload.

I used toilet paper in the woods like a pro… or like a really grossed out person…
Just enjoying a nice long hike.

The water was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The guys loved the fresh water.

The whole gang.  Me and sweet Patty were the only girls… and probably the only complainers lol.

The many faces of Heather…. oy!

We probably couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to go with… well, they might have asked for a different ME! lol  But me, myself, and I couldn’t have asked for better!

Nick is a pro at the whole camping and hiking thing!  Fun fact: Nick didn’t miss a single camp out as a boy scout until he was able to drive.

Oh these boys… they really are the best!

The route we were taking.. I think?  Honestly, I just followed.. never led!

Have a wonderful day!

Do you enjoy hiking/camping/ or both?
Any funny stories or experiences from hiking or camping?

Blogger Fails

Failure is no stranger of mine.  I’ve failed classes or tests before.  I’ve failed friendships.  I’ve failed curfews.  I’ve failed races.  I’m a failure.  I think it’s part of life.  So tonight, I decided to embrace all of my blogger fails.

This picture has NOTHING to do with this post.  It just makes me happy to think that I’ll be back here in less than 3 weeks!! Holy Moly!  I’m not sure why I ever left now…. it’s nice that for the most part I have great memories instead of the bad memories I thought I was making at times.

Last week, I chose to Blog my Everyday… if you noticed, I only made it to day three.  FAIL.

I’ve been working on this vlog that I’m really excited about.  I’ve attempted it 2-3 times now and just can’t seem to get it right.  It’ll be a surprise if I get it uploaded this week like I told y’all I would.  FAIL.

I blogged about making Pumpkin Beer once and said I’d keep y’all updated on it’s status.  Well, it’s ready… and I have pictures on my phone that need shared.  You still don’t know how it turned out.  FAIL.

I started a new blog called No Bologna with the intent of posting 5 days a week with themes each day.  It survived a week and I haven’t posted anything since.  That doesn’t mean I won’t in the future or that I don’t want too, but I realized that one blog is difficult enough to keep up.  FAIL.

I do re-caps super late.  My friend Jamey got married July 20th and I didn’t blog about it until August 13.  I went and saw Elton John in concert back in March and I’m certain I didn’t blog about it until April.  FAIL.

I can’t think of a good blog title about 99% of the time, so there are times when I ask Nick and I end up with the title Title.  FAIL.

I did a 27 day Outfit Challenge link-up when I had less than 100 followers (I really thought I was big timing it, y’all!) and only one person linked-up with me throughout the entire series… my sister.  FAIL.

Between March-July of 2012 (A good chunk of my time at Disney), I blogged a total of 51 times… FIFTY-ONE TIMES!  I was at Disney, I could have talked about a million things… but NO.  I disappeared from blogging, apparently.  One of those months had 1 post and another month had 2.  FAIL.

Do you have your list of “blogger fails”?
