I started my day off posting my everyday post from yesterday because I neglected to get it up the night before. I then realized that it was raining outside and that just made my heart happy. I love the rain. I love watching the rain, hearing the rain, feeling the rain. It does get on my nerves when I need to be somewhere and I have to dress up, but overall… I’m a lover of the rain! I sat right next to the window this morning watching the rain while I caught up on blogs and worked on my own blog and my e-mail list. Which, have you subscribed to my newsletter? If not, you can on my left side bar, or at the bottom of this post!
I haven’t been eating super healthy here in Starkville because I’m trying to save money, but I decided to splurge a tiny bit on City Bagel because it’s practically one of my most favorite places to eat in Starkville and I can always find something healthy! I left my phone to charge and so I again… did NOT GET A PICTURE! Seriously folks, I’m about ready to punish myself for lack of picture taking lately – it’s absurd. I enjoyed a jalepeno cheddar bagel with tuna salad and all the trimmings! It was delicious and exactly what I needed today! After that, Nick and I stopped by Burlaep which is a non-profit in the Starkville area. They recently opened up a location to sell their products for their non-profit and we hadn’t checked it out yet. It’s very cool. Nick bought himself a shirt to support their cause.

Then the Campus Book Mart is having a huge book sale where you get a bag of books for $5, so we stopped by to see if we could find anything. Nothing really struck a cord with me.
Today I’ve also spent a lot of time thinking about my video that I worked on yesterday… it’s just not sitting well with me. I’d like for it be more entertaining than it is. Don’t get me wrong, I find myself to be hilarious sometimes, but something about it just doesn’t feel good. Anyways, I’ve decided to scrap the video (consider it to be great practice) and re-do it. I’d like to have it done by this weekend, so I need to get to work. I just want it to be fun and sarcastic and upbeat, but what I have is just long and funny every now and then and just not what I pictured. I originally thought I did a good job, but after reviewing it 3-4 times, I just dislike it more and more. Oh well, back to filming!
Later in the day I visited my friend Lacy at work and we chit chatted about this and that for a while. It’s always so great seeing her! She’s one of the girls I’m running my race with in November! Then I met Nick for dinner and enjoyed some cafeteria food. It wasn’t the greatest haha. After dinner, we went to Local Culture which is our local Frozen Yogurt place because it’s their 3 year anniversary and they were doing yogurt for 50% from 6-8pm!! Again, huge blogger fail because I didn’t even think about snapping a picture! Then we rented a redbox and started watching the movie, but it wasn’t that great. That about sums up my evening.
I’m getting rather frustrated with myself, to be honest…. I don’t think my everyday posts have been that exciting. I thought I’d remember to take pictures and I’d be better at this, but honestly, I’m not. Tomorrow is a new day though and what’s the point of these challenges if they don’t actually challenge you, right? I do have some fun stuff planned for tomorrow… really great stuff, so I’m going to focus hard on getting great pictures and sharing my day with you tomorrow night! If you’re managing to still stick around, I really do appreciate it!
Sorry guys, I meant to post this last night, but forgot too!
Today (Tuesday) definitely started out better than yesterday (Monday) went. I finally got my phone to charge fully and it should be on the up and up now. I decided to treat myself this morning to a bagel from Einstein brothers with their delectable honey butter and a starbucks. In all honesty, I purchased the starbucks to shoot a vlog that I’m posting up next week. I’m kind of excited about it – it’s funny to me… but then again, I think I’m funny a good bit of the time when I assume others do not.
I failed to get a picture of the bagel because I was starving and practically inhaled the thing, but here I was all this morning working away on my video with my starbucks in hand.
I finally finished editing my video to the best of my ability and patience for now, then decided to start working on an e-mail subscription list. When I was at Blog Elevated, we had Sugar Rae speak at our conference. She was awesome! She is a little edgy and her material probably isn’t for everyone, but she’s good at SEO! She shared this information with us about why it’s so important to build an e-mail list. Basically, “if you aren’t building your e-mail list, you’re an idiot.” If something happens to google or wordpress in the future, how will your readers continue to get your information? The answer is, they won’t and you won’t have a way of knowing who to begin sending your blog posts and information too. I’ve always been reluctant myself about subscribing to people’s feed and I hate the RSS thing, but if you’re a subscriber of Mandy Rose, then you understand that an e-mail list doesn’t have to be annoying or full of gimmicks. You also don’t have to receive the SAME INFORMATION if you enjoy reading the blog. I enjoy reading Mandy’s blog daily, but I also look forward to her newsletter that she sends out because the information isn’t the same.
I want to create something similar. If something ever happened to blogger, I’d like to still have readers interested in reading my information. So today, I began building my e-mail list. I intend on creating an incentive for people to subscribe (some kind of e-book or DIY/recipe tutorial that isn’t featured on my blog). If you’re interested in subscribing anyways – to receive extra information that won’t always be found on my blog – then feel free to go ahead and subscribe! I promise, I will not cloud your inbox with meaningless e-mails, you’ll get a maximum of 2 e-mails per month with what I would consider quality information. I can assure you, I get the most annoyed at pointless e-mail clutter!
I meant to go on a run this evening before dinner, but I ended up taking a nap instead, so there’s that… Then I met up with my friend Jamey and her husband for dinner and drinks (although I had already eaten to save some money because the place we ate can be kind of pricey for my non-employed budget right now). I didn’t do much after dinner and I neglected to get a picture. I’m starting to realize each day that Blogging my everyday isn’t as easy as I expected it to be and I’m not really that great at it! haha Hopefully you can expect a post tonight and I won’t forget like I did yesterday.
