The Basics of my life + more Disney Pics!

Happy Friday, friends!  I, for one, am glad to finally be at this point.  After work today I’m heading out of town with Nick and I’m oh so excited!  We’re going to visit his best friend Joel.

Just another post scattered with Disney pictures.  Enjoy!

They are my favorite!

Work
Work has been really good the past 2 weeks.  Although I haven’t made my decision yet (I mean, it’s only been 2 weeks) about whether or not I’m sticking with this job long term, going back to grad school, or finding a job that’s more in line with my degree, I’m really enjoying it.  Not going to lie, yesterday at the end of the day, I felt unbelievably overwhelmed.  I ended up with 3 tasks that I know I need to take care of today and they were all new and seemed confusing.  I’m just trying to hang on for dear life so I don’t get thrown from the bus.  That’s how all of this feels, trying to learn something completely knew that my degree couldn’t have taught me because it all has to do with software and the type of work they do.

We are matchy-matchy!  Love it!

My Morning
This morning, I woke up at 5am.  I’m trying to get packed up for my trip and get ready for work.  I managed to almost drink creamer this morning when I walked away from my coffee pot only having poured creamer into my mug.  I enjoyed another breakfast sandwich.  My dog will NOT stop moaning and whining.  Guess I need to take a quick break and put him down some breakfast.  He really gets upset when we eat and he doesn’t. Ok, he’s quiet now.

Tangled is my all time favorite Disney Movie… I haven’t seen Frozen yet though!

Blogging
So what tends to happen over the weekends when I go out of town is I completely slack in blogging.  So y’all should expect not to hear from me via my blog or your blog because chances are, I won’t read your posts until next week.  I have a lot of ideas for my blog, but it’s finding the motivation to do them.

Yes, I have the wrist size of a child.  I also spot BOO in this picture!

My Health
I’ve been eating pretty darn healthy lately.  Sure I might have eaten a reeses or two last night, but like I mentioned above… I was overwhelmed from work.  Other than that though, I’ve been taking my lunch to work everyday and it’s all really healthy stuff and I’ve been eating decent meals at night.  I never skip breakfast.  That’s for crazy people.  I have missed working out though.  This week I’ve been working longer hours during the day so I can take off a few hours early today for my trip, so I’m looking forward to regular hours next week so I can make it home before the sun goes down to fit in a run or bike ride.

My Entrepreneur Mind
I’m thinking about a lot of ideas to make extra money.  They are all small ideas, but I think they’re things I would really enjoy doing.  A good many of those have to do with blogging.  I would love to plan some events in Mississippi for bloggers.  We don’t have a great conference that’s close to us, We don’t have a huge get together every so often, but I’m thinking through some fun ideas of how to connect southern bloggers.  Of course, I don’t think my blog is quite big enough to manage that alone, but it’s a process.  We’ll see how it turns out, right now it’s just an idea.  I had another idea to create a blog editorial calendar that bloggers could purchase.  It would cover everything from planning to sponsorship.  Is that something you would buy?  I’m really not sure.  I know there are a lot of printables, but just like how everything gets started, I haven’t been completely satisfied with just the printables.  I wish I had a handy dandy notebook that covered it all!  These are all just thoughts that I’m stewing with right now.  I also have some ideas that don’t deal with blogging at all.  I really need to jot all this down to get it OUT OF MY HEAD!  I think about things way too much!

Y’all have a wonderful Friday, enjoy your weekend!  Leave some lovely comments below, too!  Thanks!

These are a few of my favorite things…. *Now you’re singing, right?*

Today, I’m sharing 5 of my current favorite things!  I’ve recently found some things that just make my life a lot happier and I thought, hey, why not share these things with the world?!
{1} Food Network Wine Pourers
{source}
Nick got me a pair of these for Christmas.  Do you get annoyed when your wine drips down the side of the bottle after you pour it?  I most certainly do!  These take care of that problem while also corking my wine!
{2}Buddy Fruits
Now… Honestly, I’m not sure if these are meant for babies.  I see a lot of baby food in packs like these, but I’m going to go with “These are the grown-up version” because yummy mess, these things are delicious!  I take one to work with me every day and save it for my last thing because it’s  a “treat”.  It’s loaded with fruits and it’s just like applesauce in a pack.  Every flavor is good.
Also, ignore the pepperoni’s in the background, those belong to the parentals.  Although I do love pepperoni’s, My little vegetarian heart gave that up January 1st.
Back to what I was saying…. GO BUY THESE!  They will change your life and the way you eat your fruit.
{3} My Disney Mug

Back when I went to Disney with Nick’s family, I purchased this mug.  Side story: They had a whole section of these mugs with half of them labeled 12.95 and the other half labeled 14.95.  We of course picked up the 12.95 mug, but it rang up at 14.95.  We made a comment, she got it all fixed for us, plus we got a 10% Vacation Club Member discount, which made this mug so inexpensive!  Makes me super happy.
So this mug is HUGE.  Like bigger than I ever allow a mug to be in my house because the truth is… I drink my coffee slow.  A bigger mug means more coffee, which means more coffee that has time to get too cold, too fast.  I filled it up about 1/3 of the way haha.
Can I also just point out the detail in this mug… .it has just about every single Disney character on here, all mingling, in their own little fantasy world of awesome!  LOVE.
{4} The fact that Target does this…..

I mean, really?  This just made me laugh.
Top pinned on Pinterest! BAHAHAHA!
Is that for real?  Something like 1,000,000 people pinned this here owl jar?  Why is it still on the shelf?  I assumed people would have flocked to their nearest target in order to purchase one of these babies!  Have you seen this in your local Target?  I assume this isn’t something that is only found in Mississippi, because letsbehonest…. we’re the last to do anything and everything!
{5} Arbonne
I went to an Arbonne party last Fall and I meant to document it right away… and like usual, I failed as a blogger.  Oh well, you just embrace those failures and move on.  Have y’all heard of Arbonne?  It’s one of those build your business things that people fall head over heels in love with and try to start selling and this that and the other.  Although I am head over heels in love with it, it’s also something I’ve seen the benefits of and can be proud to use.  Their products are 100% vegan and I can’t tell you how different my skin is when I’m using this stuff.  Anyways, I know I sound like another crazy person on her soapbox about the newest most glorious thing in the world.  I’m done.  This is just currently a favorite of mine and I pretty much want everything in their catalog, but I won’t do that to my bank account, it’d probably transform into a person and kill me in the middle of the night.  (yikes, scary image!)  I truly am curious though if you’ve used Arbonne and have any opinions on it.
There you have it.  My 5 current favorite things.
I’d also like to point out that my coffee is in fact cold now and I’ve only had the drink about 1/2 of the 1/3 cup I poured.  Still in LOVE with this mug though, so I think I can get over it.
Can I add a 6th favorite?  “Yes, of course”
Ok.  Good.  I thought that was the case since this is my blog after all.
I’m linking up with one of my FAVORITES, Mama Kat, for her pretty much world famous writer’s workshop.
Mama's Losin' It
Have a great Thursday everyone!

I should turn random into a series

All I seem to have on my brain are small tiny thoughts that couldn’t possibly amount to a real post, so you’re about to read another episode of my random thoughts, but hey, this usually turns out to be pretty popular, so here ya go!  Also, I’m running out of interesting (were they ever really that interesting?) titles for posts like these – hence, why I should probably just turn this type of post into a series because it happens so dang often.  Let’s be honest though…. I probably won’t!

I haven’t vlogged in a while.  It almost  feels foreign again… I’m kind of nervous about getting back into it.  I’ve been documenting some interesting things throughout the month {car on fire peak your interest?} and I’m going to try my hand at one of the ‘mini videos’ that people do at the end of the month.  I have some other videos I’d like to work on too, but the point is… I’m really nervous, I haven’t truly filmed a video in over a month.  I still need to transfer all of my stuff to the external hard drive I have so my computer will work faster when I edit videos.

Nick wants me to read “How to Grow Fresh Air”.  He’s been pretty obsessed with plants and how they affect the air.  It’s truly something I appreciate and I’m excited about diving into this book.  Have you read it before?  Do you find plants to be important in your office/work space?

I just started watching Scandal.  I continue to hear hype about it and finally gave in.  I just didn’t want it to be a show about people cheating all the time.  Watching things like that really bother me.  I’ve seen so many respectable Christian women bloggers talk about Scandal though and so I thought I’d give it a try.  I really hope it doesn’t disappoint and although I understand there will be some cheating throughout the show, I sincerely hope it’s not the basis of the show and as far as I can tell, it’s not.  It’s a pretty interesting concept actually.

I really hope things start to make sense at my new job.  There are so many numbers and options and big words and sometimes I feel like a chicken with my head cut off, but I continue to be reassured that it gets better and I’ll eventually get it.
I’m thinking about “selling” Arbonne products.  I’m not a sales person, by any means!  I kind of suck at it.  I really want to “sell” it though because of the discount I’d personally get.  I truly love these products and I know I want to buy more than I probably should, so why not get the greatest discount? Right?  Right.

I tried some vegetarian chili last night.  It was interesting.  I poured boiling water into a bag.  It created the perfect serving size.  I poured it over some chips.  It’s what was for dinner.  I wasn’t extremely prepared for it because if I was I would have had sour cream, shredded cheese and fritos.  Overall though, thumbs up!

I’m about to reach the 2 year anniversary of meeting my roommates from Disney.  I miss those girls dearly!  We don’t talk as often as we used to, but I’m pretty sure I think about them every single day.  I have no doubt that we’ll pick right back up where we left off next time I see them.  I’m sending them all a sweet card this week telling them Happy Anniversary and how thankful I am to have them in my life!
Have a great Wednesday!

ps. Thanks to everyone who filled out the blogger survey from yesterday.  Y’all are fabulous!
