Dinner, my shopping woes & blogger questions

Today, I put in extra time at work because I’m trying to get off a bit early on Friday to go out of town.  After work, I headed home and made dinner.  I wanted to try out this new food I bought last night.  I picked up Mandarin Orange “Chick’n” and decided to pair it with some white rice.  It was extremely easy to make and tasted pretty good, but next time I’d like to try it with some added veggies like bell peppers & onions.  It turned out a little bland.  If you have any other suggestions, I’m all for it!

After dinner, I did some blog reading and decided to go to the mall to seek out some more professional clothes.  I’m wearing out my black slacks like it’s the only pair of pants I own!  My other professional pants are a little snug after the holidays.  It’s too chilly and I’m too lazy to shave for skirts.  I didn’t end up with much of anything tonight though.  I’m a terrible shopper.  I have to truly love something in order to buy it.  If it’s not fitting right because of my “extra pounds” I can’t bring myself to spend the money.  I left with no pants (which is what I desperately need) and one maroon shirt.  I only got the maroon shirt because it was $10 and it’ll be great for game days!  After shopping, I headed home and truly couldn’t think of much to write about.  I’ve been wondering about the best time to write blog posts though.  There are posts that don’t get much response (which may be because it lacks quality haha), but then there are posts that get leaps and bounds of responses.  I’m curious if it’s the time of day I post.  Anyways, my little bloggy brain had some questions and if you’d be so kind, I would love for you to answer them!  Since I didn’t have anything better to write about, I thought I’d get to know my readers a little more.  You don’t have to leave your name if you don’t want to and I promise it’s not rocket science.  These are probably the most boring questions of your life, but seriously… it would mean the world to me!  Thanks!

I’m exhausted.  These early  mornings are still taking some time for me to get use to.  I’m about to brush my teeth, wash my face, get dressed for bed, and make my lunch for tomorrow.  Y’all have a great night!

I gave up

Last week.
On blogging.

I’m really not too sad about it.  Sure, I had some pretty decent stuff planned, but there isn’t anything that says it can’t be posted later.  I started having issues with blogger last weekend.  There were blogger.com blogs that I couldn’t read properly or had images missing and then eventually blogger.com stopped working for me all together!  It wouldn’t even load the page.  I worked on it for a while and eventually gave up.

This was a perfect night.

This past week was the last week Nick was in town before heading back to Starkville to finish up his last semester.  He actually just got back to Starkville.  Now it’s back to my seemingly boring days, except now I have that whole new perspective on life where I’m finding contentment in the here and now.  For some reason, that makes my life not feel or seem as boring.  All the things I continue to put off, I want to strive to do now.  I have so many ideas churning in my brain and I’m about to start developing those ideas into objectives and plans and eventually into actions.  I have blog posts that needed written months ago, or so it seems.  I started a real job last week.  I don’t know if it’s a permanent job, but it’s a job.  It’s a job I’m really enjoying.  It’s a job I can see myself staying at for an extended amount of time.  It’s a job that has possibility for me to improve and move up with.  Once I make a final decision in a few months, I’ll share a little more about the job, but right now, it’s keeping me plenty busy and I’m loving it!

Due to blogger not working throughout the week, I enjoyed the last week with Nick and it was absolutely wonderful!  We spent lots of time together, enjoying each others company, lots of time with family and friends and all together, it was just a perfectly wonderful week.  I was disappointed to see him go, but at the same time… he’s about to embark on his last semester!  That’s kind of a big deal and I’m really excited about it!  I think for the first time… EVER I didn’t focus on his leaving, but I focused on the time we were spending together.  Usually I get sad the last few days because I realize what’s about to happen.  I didn’t do that this time.  That doesn’t mean I’m going to miss him less, it just means that I truly enjoyed every minute before he left and I knew that him leaving meant that we were moving forward.  Life was moving forward for the better.  He has a lot to be excited about over these next few months, as do I.

Tried a new chinese place and it was DELICIOUS!  I ordered the tofu and fried rice.  It was delicious and holy mess, I got a ton of food for a killer price!  The people were friendly and it was an all around great experience.  I’m excited about supporting them in the future with my chinese cravings.  Lucky really wanted our food too!

We managed to do an assortment of things that just make me happy.
We worked on a puzzle
We ordered Chinese take-out
We made a fire
We watched some of our favorite movies
We enjoyed Dunkin Donuts
We cooked meals together
We went to Disney

It could go on and on probably because that’s how great it was to have him home for the Holidays and even the most basic activities were unbelievably enjoyable.

It feels weird to get this mushy and sappy, because I don’t usually do that, but my point is… I couldn’t have asked for a better month with Nick and our family and friends!

Once Nick left town, I headed off to the grocery store to get prepared for the week ahead.  All last week, I was starving by 3:30pm and never had enough food to eat at work.  I didn’t want to drive out and get anything because I don’t like spending the money and I don’t feel like facing the traffic.  I stocked up on
some great lunch items and some really good dinner items that I’m excited to give a try!  There are 2 things for dinner I’m really excited about and I hope I’ll have something good to report, it would make my little vegetarian heart flutter!  I hope these meals will be as delicious as I’m anticipating!

Lastly, Go Picnic is having a killer sale right now!  You should check it out.  I got 15 meals for 41.00 total and that’s roughly 2.75/meal which is awesome!  I’m going to store them at work for the days when I wake up late and don’t have time to make my lunch or when I run out of groceries and I haven’t had a chance to stop by the store yet and still need a healthy and delicious lunch.  I encourage y’all to do the same!

Hope y’all have a good week and I can assure you, I’m back in full swing now!  I truly enjoyed all the quality time I spent with the ones I love, but it also feels good to be back here in this space too.  I really do cherish the relationships I’ve built through this blog – Thank you for reading and commenting.  I read and respond to every single comment, so please don’t hesitate to drop me a little note!
