Questions from E at Adventure of E about my experience with the Disney College Program.
1. What do you want to do with your marketing degree?
Wow… there is SO much!! Ideally, I would love to work for a larger corporation managing their marketing department or become the VP of Marketing somewhere. Another idea would be to open up my own marketing consulting business that was affordable for the small businesses in the community since I know how important that is because my dad owns a small business. And then another idea is to just open up my own business that doesn’t necessarily focus on marketing (it could be a boutique kind of store) but use my marketing skills to make it successful, or ALL OF THE ABOVE! I want to do so much… that was a really great question!!
2. How did you end up at Disney?
I had a few jobs I was interviewing for and was actually offered one job at the time, but my boyfriend wanted me to go with him to the Disney presentation on campus, so I did. I was having a hard time deciding which job I wanted to take and wasn’t feeling at peace about any of them, until I applied for Disney. In the end, it ended up working out, they offered me the job, and I moved down here!
3. Do you do housekeeping at Disney or somewhere else?
I work at the Disney Boardwalk hotel as a housekeeper. It’s the job they offered me for the college program internship. It is definitely some of the hardest work I’ve ever done, I’m thankful to know that I won’t be here forever because I already feel it aging me- I have such a huge respect for the people who do this job every day because I sure don’t think I could!
4. What is the coolest thing someone has left for you in their room?
Hmm… the best thing I’ve gotten is a fifty dollar tip! (twice!) But I get a lot of food too – good pasta, cereal, cookies, once… a whole bag of potatoes!, frozen dinners, tons of water bottles and cokes, just lots of food, which is nice, I don’t go grocery shopping very much. But I haven’t gotten anything cool like an ipod yet- if we find items like that, we turn it into lost and found and are able to keep it after 30 or 90 days I believe, but haven’t gotten anything yet!
Thank you so much E for your fabulous questions. Feel free to drop a question in the comments!
Happy Friday 🙂

Thanks for answering all my questions =)
It seems like such a great experience to be able to work at Disney and get to see some things from “behind the curtain.”
I feel ya’ on housekeeping being tough and having respect. I feel the same about being a server in a restaurant. I always leave better tips now that I’ve experienced it!
Thanks for sharing!
