I’ve been doing quite a few link-ups around here lately, but I think they’ve all been good fun, so no apologies here. Just come back next week for non link-up material if you’re tired of this.
Erin isn’t the biggest fan of Halloween and although I have had my share of fun from one Halloween to the next, honestly… it’s not my top choice either (I’m thinking… Thanksgiving, Christmas, and my Birthday rank much higher). She had some really great alternatives to celebrating Halloween, but I’m certain I can come up with a great list of my own… so here we go!
{1} Eat a Reeses’ or… Have a McAlisters sweet tea
Erin started hers off with food and it only seemed fitting to do the same with mine. I don’t have a Chipotle and I’ve never eaten at a Chipotle, so I don’t understand her need there, but I love me some reeses and I swoon for McAlisters Sweet Tea. If I was guaranteed a reeses at every door step or a free sweet tea card (or hey, why not just serve me a glass) then I’d trick or treat circles around all of you!
{2}Play Candy Crush
Yes… it’s addicting… and most days I’m ashamed… other days I’m too lost in it to realize how ashamed I should be!
{3} Go on a Date
Dress up, but not look slutty or gross doing so, enjoy the evening doing something you love with someone you care about and leave with a bunch of happy feelings instead of fear, frustration, and make up that may take days to remove. Sign me up for that!
{4} Go to Disney World
I’m certain that’s my answer to all of life’s toughest questions… Go to Disney World! It’s the happiest place on Earth, where you can still celebrate Halloween, but not in such a scary way… because it’s Mickey and friends, and really? How scary can they be!?
{5} Enter Giveaways
Hey… sure, you get a few pieces of free candy. And yes, you could calculate the total amount of that candy and figure out how much that’s worth to ya, but what if that time trick or treating was spent entering giveaways with the possibility of winning $100 here or $300 there? That’s more up my alley. I may go away with nothing (but that’s less calories and time I need to spend at the gym, amen!), but I could also come away with a lot… see?
Didn’t mean to get y’all riled up, NO, I don’t have a huge sum of cash waiting to be had, but my sweet sponsor Hillary @ A Whole Awful Lot does have some super great gifts for you! So check her out, follow, like, tweet, whatever! Get yourself some of this goodness because entering a giveaway is way fun!
A set of adorable coasters
A jar of homemade taco seasoning
(And if you happen to not win, you can always use her special recipe to make your own!)

Going to Disney World trumps everything! And I prefer the cute Halloween stuff over the scary too.

I’d take a trip to Disney World over Halloween any day!

I love how these are semi related to halloween but not exactly – play candy crush instead of collecting candy? sure! and I totally agree with go to disney world. yes!

Going to Disney World is better than doing pretty much anything!! Haha not a fan of Halloween either – too much work if I’m not going to get free candy anymore!

Keith and I could drink gallons of that sweet tea…delish!

Umm, going to DisneyWorld sounds like 1.5 million times better than celebrating Halloween. (I just found out, I might get a chance to go with my family in a couple months….I don’t know yet for sure if it will work out, but I’m already starting to get excited. Last time I went I was 5 and I really don’t remember it. 😛 )
