What is your lifestyle?

Recently, I have noticed that I’ve been losing some weight… It was an exciting revelation, but it got me thinking.. what exactly have I been doing in order to see these positive changes?

I realized that it is all in my lifestyle now.  I thought of all the activity I have going on during the week.  I’m surprised at how I’ve been able to manage my activeness and my school and work schedule.  I like to think of myself as a busy person, I enjoy staying busy, I like having lots of things on my calendar.  Between school and work each day, I practically have a full time job because I stay on campus every day from 8-5.  So how did I manage to squeeze in some extra time for working out and leading an active lifestyle?

First, I signed myself up for a tennis course this semester because I’ve been wanting to learn to play for a long time now.  So I play tennis twice a week.  I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a lot of new people who have different running groups going on throughout the week starting around 5:45am, so I’ve been waking up running with some different groups while I’m trying to stay on my training schedule for my half marathon in January.  Then, about 2 weeks ago, I bought a new bike… and I’ve been riding my bike to and from school every single day!  Then I made a once a week walking date with a dear friend so we get the chance to catch up and she can update me on her wedding planning.  So I realized, that subcontiously, I ended up creating an active lifestyle that fit right in with my daily routine of school and work.

Now, My eating habits are still horrible, and I’m working on that, but at least I’m burning a few extra calories a day!  I strongly encourage each of you to find a way to lead an active lifestyle because it will definiately pay off! Make it work with your schedule, make it something you enjoy!

What are some things you do to keep an active lifestyle? I’d love to hear what works for you!!
