Gloster, MS

A few weekends ago I traveled to Gloster, MS to be a bridesmaid in a sweet friends wedding!  I traveled down a few days early so I could help out with any last minute details.  This is all just a simple re-cap with pictures, mainly for my enjoyment and so I have it documented!  I’ll document more from the wedding day later this week!

Wednesday

We left Starkville around 4pm.  We had a few errands to run in Jackson so we stopped there for dinner and to run our errands.  We were able to meet up with Nick for dinner that night (no pictures!).  Nick and I had just completed our 10 day $35 eating out challenge and this was our last meal before totaling up our costs.  Sad to say, I ended up losing this one and had to pay him a little over $6.  We arrived to Gloster that night and stopped by Jamey’s mom’s so we could help clean up the house.  This story may not be so funny to y’all, but it was HILARIOUS to me (one of those, had to be there things)!  Jamey asked her mom what I could help with because I of course wanted to help (I’m a great bridesmaid y’all).  Her mom is in a frantic trying to clean everything and I think she just felt overwhelmed to seriously think of something to give me… so she threw up this salt & pepper shaker and said, “Here, if these are going to sit out, it needs to at least have salt & pepper in them, she can fill these up”.  So Ladies, that’s what I did… I filled up some Salt & Pepper shakers and my duties were complete!

Thursday
The MOH took me with her on some errands while Jamey went and did some stuff.  I caught up on BB and went for a nice walk outside and showered before we left.  She took me to this amazing restaurant in Natchez and then we were able to site see just a bit.  Have y’all ever read Greg Isles?  He’s a MS author who sets his books in Natchez.  I was excited to see his house because I have read one of his books and it was one of the most intriguing books I’ve ever read!

Friday
Friday we had the Bridesmaid Luncheon and then the Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner.  The luncheon was beautiful.  We had this delicious trio salad, in true blogger fashion… I forgot to get a picture, but you can obviously see that it was DELICIOUS!  The cookies were from the rehearsal dinner, how cute are they?!

Have a wonderful Monday and be sure to link-up with Ashley and I for Home Town Hop tomorrow!

One week left… wow!

Photobucket

It’s been a while since I’ve linked up with sweet Ashley for Friday Letters!

Dear Friday, I enjoyed  powered through a 17 hour work day when I went to the Delta Wednesday, so I’m looking forward to not doing much work today and relaxing!  Dear BB, you are insane…. I’m watching the episode from last night right now and I have no clue who is going to go home right now!  Dear VISTA, we have one more week together, that’s insane…. I look forward to writing a Friday Letters next week devoted purely to VISTA!  Dear BHB participants, I sent out an e-mail yesterday announcing who you’re paired up with!  I hope you all are enjoying your experience so far and I’m looking forward to getting to know Jessa! Dear Disney, once my VISTA countdown ends, it’ll be time to start counting down to my half-marathon and visiting you once again!!  Dear Brownsville, TN, I’m excited about visiting with my dear friend Lacy today and seeing what you’re all about.  Dear health & body, I apologize in advance for the food I’m going to be putting in my mouth from Lacy’s dad’s restaurant, The Burger Basket, I’ve heard some great things about it and I’m not going to lie… I’ll be stuffing my face!

Hope you all have a WONDERFUL Friday!

Get to know me!

Mississippi Women Bloggers

I’m so blessed to be a member of Mississippi Women Bloggers!  They set up this little mini-interview so that my readers (and fellow Mississippi bloggers) could get to know me a little better!

What part of Mississippi are you from?
Brandon, Flowood, Jackson area.. If I’m talking to someone outside of Mississippi, I say Jackson.  If they’re from Mississippi… I respond with Brandon, but technically more Flowood.

How long have you been blogging?
Almost 2 years now.

Why did you start blogging?
You can read all about why I started blogging here, but it was mainly out of boredom at work one day and then some fabulous ladies inspired me to keep it going!

Tell us what we can expect when reading your blog.
It’s pretty random… there is a lot about my training and workout plan, some recipes, some DIY, events I go to, people I hang out with, every now and then Nick (here and here) will appear on the blog, and well… just random stuff.

What does your blog title mean?
I definitely want to explore the world at some point… I would love to live in different cities of the U.S. and travel through other countries.  I hope this life takes me from one place to the next to the next.  My title was meant to share my journey from here (Mississippi) to whereever else I may be led.  I haven’t gone many places yet, like I originally hoped, but it’s a journey none-the-less!

Who inspires you to blog?
Myself? I don’t know lol.  I come up with my topics, sometimes I link-up, most of the time it’s whatever’s on my mind.  I do it because I enjoy it and it’s relaxing (most of the time!)

If you could pick a favorite blog post from this past year, what would it be?
First of all, I’m not sure I could come up with just one… so here are a few for your reading pleasure (yep, living on the edge, breaking the rules, sorry folks!)
In the South…
Louisville, KY
A favorite things party
What you all have been waiting for…
I’m answering your obvious questions!

Do your real life friends know you blog? How do they respond?
Yes.  They definitely do!  They seem to love it!  Some of them even want to start blogging themselves, hence my blog workshop I created!

What is your blogging routine (if you have one)?
I don’t really have one… but I need to get one!  I usually like to schedule posts for 6am the day I want them out and I usually just write whenever I find the time.  I don’t usually post on weekends and I use my EC planner to keep my posts organized.  It could all be better though… maybe I’ll start working on a new routine soon!

We all love social media! Are there any social media links you would like to share so we can follow you?
Well sure.. here ya go!

Name 3 bloggers who have not joined Mississippi Women Bloggers that you would like to see join us!
I can’t really think of any mississippi bloggers that aren’t already on the network, but I’ll continue looking!
