March Bliss: Come Link-Up!

Who else is absolutely STUNNED that it’s the end of March?  Every year seems to go by quicker and quicker!  I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for some warmer weather, gosh darn it!  Usually in the South, we’re heating up, but it’s a continuous back & forth between hot and cold at the moment.  What’s your weather like right now?

Since it is the end of March, it’s time for our second link-up of Bliss and I can’t wait to see what you all share with us this month!

Haven’t heard about Bliss yet?  Well, on the last Wednesday of each month, link-up a post where you share some of your favorite things from the month.  It could be 1 thing, it could be 20 things – It could be a product, a person, or a moment in time. We just want to know about it!
Next Month’s Link-Up: APRIL 30TH

{1} Whitney English Day Designer
I’m sure every blogger who doesn’t own one of these is sick and tired of hearing other bloggers talk about it!  Just like when Erin Condren became so big, but y’all, I won this wonderful planner and although it’s taken some getting use to, I’m really enjoying it!  I tried to use it for work, blogging, & personal, but I think I need to just keep a separate work planner at work and a separate blogger/personal planner – so that’s what Whitney English is for me!  I have so many ideas for this blog and for local events/meet-ups.  I’m hoping this planner will help get me there!

{2} Arbonne Raisin LipGloss
This stuff is amazing!  I’m a huge fan of Arbonne mainly because they’re vegan!  This raisin color matches any and every skin tone though!  I’ve had it for about 2 months now and wear it almost every day, I don’t think it’s even close to running out.  If you get a chance to try it, please do!

{3} Vegetarian Sausage Biscuit
I had one of these yesterday morning and chances are I’ll have one again this morning.  I use the Morning Star brand of sausage (hot n’ spicy) and then I have a bag of frozen biscuits so I can use just one at a time since I’m usually cooking solo.  I made one for my ride to work and it was delicious.  How could I possibly miss meat when there are delicious alternatives that didn’t kill an animal?

{4} Mississippi State Baseball
I’ve been going to a lot of baseball games this season!  A friend of mine is married to a coach on the team and so she has great seats.  If no one is coming to town for the game then she always shares her tickets with me and Nick.  They’re right behind home plate.  I also bought my very first Mississippi State Baseball t-shirt this month and enjoyed wearing it to my last game.

(Photo Credit: Nick – he caught a foul ball at one of the games he went too)

Those are the main things I’ve been loving this month.  If you’ve been reading along, then you know that March has just been crazy for me so I’m glad I could enjoy these little pieces of Bliss throughout the month!

Stay tuned for something a little different on the blog next month!

I may have been a mess, but I passed {plus Kitchen Mix Up!}

Before I get started, I wanted to remind you to link-up with me and Meg on Wednesday for Bliss this month.  Share your favorite things from the month of March!  I truly look forward to seeing what y’all find & love throughout the month – whether it’s celebrating with you in the exciting moments you experienced or realizing that I need a new product in my life thanks to you!
—————————-
This has been an insane month y’all!! I feel like I’m finally starting to slow down.  As most of you know, I got a job back in January.  I had been searching for a few months and honestly wasn’t sure if this job was even what I wanted, but it was a job and I took it.  Turns out, I’ve been loving it.  For those that may or may not be curious, I work in the line of insurance and investments.  I do case prep and I submit applications and so on and so forth…. Technically, I’m an “assistant” which isn’t a terrible thing – the world would not survive without assistants, but I don’t plan on staying in this role for long.  One thing I needed to do was take my Insurance Licensing Exam so I can become an Associate Financial Rep.  My test was Friday and y’all… I was a HOT MESS last week.  Thursday evening, I was in tears over studying for this test.  I got off work late, felt behind on studying, and didn’t feel that I had a good place to study that would keep me focused.  Nick’s brother and sister-in-law came to my rescue!

I went on a wonderful walk with his sister-in-law and that helped calm me down (I hadn’t worked out at all that week) and then they were so diligent to not disturb me while I studied in their spare bedroom – They also left me study snacks (Seriously… they’re the greatest!).  Right before I left, I took a practice exam and I needed ONE more correct question to pass.  ONE.  Nick’s brother works in this industry too, so he answered a few questions, explained a few things…. when I say that I would not have passed without their generosity and knowledge – I WOULD NOT HAVE PASSED!  I’m so thankful for them and the relationship I have with them.

Crazy Eyes??
Thank goodness that’s over with.  I passed and I’m happy to be working towards my next goal!  I saved an Easter Egg Reese’s for when/if I passed the test, so I was able to devour that once I finally had the courage to look up my score (Technically, Nick looked it up because I was still too scared).  I sent that picture to Nick’s sister-in-law to let her know that I passed.  I celebrated in Starkville over the weekend by attending some baseball games and duh, duh, duh…. watching FROZEN for the first time!  It was amazing, just like everyone said, but I do think it was hyped up so much that it didn’t have the same affect it had on everyone else who saw it in theaters.  I did love it though and I love the music and I love the “twist” in the plot!  It’s wonderful – yet again, Disney does not disappoint.

As I type this, I see a box sitting under my desk… a beautiful box that holds a beautiful new computer.  Y’all…. I’m so excited about this!  My little laptop is about to bite the dust.  It’ll last me a little while longer, but I’m so excited to use my new computer to increase all of these blog related projects in my head, get back to vlogging, and so many other things!

When you leave blogging for days at a time…. your first post back just seems like a hodge podge of junk lol.  Do you experience that too?  That’s pretty much ALL that I’ve been experiencing this month…. bleh, I’m going with it!

KitchenMixUp

Lastly, I was excited to see Meg and Amanda’s Theme for Kitchen Mix Up this month!  Of course, with St. Patrick’s Day falling in March, the theme was GREEN!  You know what this theme got me thinking about?  Juicing.  The beautiful GREEN juices I used to make.  Do you remember when I juiced?  Yeah, me neither… it’s been forever ago! I threw my juicer in the trash because it made me angry…. yeah, I haven’t purchased another one since, so juicing stopped for far longer than I would have liked.  It’s time though.  It truly is time.  I’ve been dreaming about a beautiful juice for so long and with spring/summer right around the corner (Once mother nature gets her crap together!) it just seems like the perfect time to start juicing again.  In honor of this “promise” I’m making to myself to purchase a new juicer within the next month or two – I’d like to share my favorite juice recipe below!  I’ve shared it before on the blog, but this can be a beautiful reminder to you (as it is to me) that juicing can be delicious plus the health benefits are outstanding and completely worth the time, money, & effort!

Also, if you haven’t watched “Fat, Sick, & Nearly Dead” – you really should.  Great documentary that can be found on Netflix about juicing!

This juice is called the “Beginner Green” and the reason is because it’s a great starter drink to get those veggies.  You can hardly taste the veggies, it’s completely delicious, but it holds FIVE cups of spinach and some celery.

Just the Facts.

I wasn’t sure what I was going to write about today until I posted this tweet and a genius idea was born.
@hblack79 why stop at two!!!? 😉

 Here are some facts:
+ Like previously mentioned: A grilled cheese is always better with 2 slices of cheese.  There is debate that it could be better with more, although I haven’t personally tested that fact for myself.
+ I’m coming down with a sinus cold.  Similar to the sinus cold I had on my trip to Disney over Christmas.  I’m not happy about this one bit.

+ Some very close friends of mine are moving to Florida.  I’ll be visiting as often as possible and there will always be at least one trip to Disney per visit.

+ I consume way more Reese’s than my body appreciates.

+ The filming of Fast & Furious 7 will resume shorty and I’m half excited, half sad…. it will just NOT be the same.

+ Banana Pineapple smoothies are the shiz… like unbelievably delicious.  My mom made one the other night and it was amazing.  Next time, we’re going to pair it with some coconut milk and I’m hoping it will whisk me away to an island somewhere.  Seriously.  Go make yourself a Banana Pineapple Smoothie.  Jackpot – I just found this recipe from Dole: Check that out!

+ Girl Scout Cookies are good…. BUT they’re not how I totally remember them.  I’m not sure they’re worth the $3.75 these days.  When I was a girlscout, they were $2.50/box.  That’s reasonable.  I think they were more delicious back then too.  Maybe my memory doesn’t serve me correctly though?

+ I need to re-paint my toes.  Luckily, last time I went with a palish/nudish/pinkish color and so you can’t really tell… but it’s time.

+ My 25th birthday is in less than a month.  Home girl is having a Disney themed birthday party.

+ Newk’s has the best mac and cheese.  I’ve already eaten 2 grilled cheese sandwiches tonight, part of a Reese’s…. bar.  And my parents are going to dinner at Newk’s.  I’m contemplating the extra calories because they’re oh so good and hey… it’s free.  #yesimashamed  #alsogettingfatter

+ I have not been on a regular workout routine in way too long.  The weather has been ridiculous here.  Constantly getting sick from the temp changes, experiencing 10-20 degree weather that I’m no where near use to, and lacking a gym membership due to this thing called first, unemployment, and second, trying to save some money.

+ I finally have a job and a great one at that… maybe I should invest in that gym membership now?  Oh, but I’m still living with the parentals… so then there’s the whole “which gym will be the closest to where I end up moving in the next few months?”  Oh, the debacle.

What facts do you have to share with me on this fine day?
