Benefits of Bloglovin’

I had really great response to my post yesterday on Authentic Blogging and I had a lot of people ask me about Bloglovin and how it works and what I like about it.  I had been wanting to do a post on Bloglovin for a while now because it really did improve my blog reading and commenting!  So today is that day!
This is the home page for bloglovin

As you can see, on the left hand side is a list of the blogs I follow.  I have a tab for my Daily Reads which is great because even when I don’t have time to catch up on EVERY blog I would ideally be able to read on a daily basis, I can catch up on the blogs that I love or the ladies I feel like I know on a more personal level.  Then I categorize my other blogs into mommy blogs and newlywed blogs and running blogs and crafting blogs.  The list is endless as to how you can categorize your blogs.

Now here’s my favorite part!  When you go in to read a blog, you’ll have a few things I want to make sure you notice!
1. You have a pull down tab with all the blog posts and how many blogs need to be read so you can choose certain sections to read from.  As you can see, my “All unread posts” is selected and I am on 1/2 of those posts.
2. Once I finish that post, i click the “Older” button to scroll to the next blog that I need to read.
3. THE BEST PART: If there is a post I love, a recipe I want to check out later, or just some really great advice I want to make sure to remember, I can click that little heart at the top and it saves it in my favorite file and I can go back at anytime!

Bloglovin has really changed the way I blog and comment and it’s made me a better blogger!  I feel like I’m connecting with my readers more and the blogs that I follow, I also feel like I’ve been able to keep up with everyone’s lives and comment more frequently!  I strongly suggest using Bloglovin to keep up with your favorite blogs!

Have a great Tuesday sweet friends, hope this was helpful!

Home Town Hop Link-Up!

I don’t know about you, but it’s quite obvious through my blog that I’m a Mississippi girl through and through.  I consider two places “home” here in Mississippi: the Jackson area (specifically Brandon/Flowood) and then Starkville (my college town and where I live now).  I absolutely LOVE having people visit me so I can show them around and take them to my favorite places to eat.  I know what you’re probably thinking, that Mississippi doesn’t seem to have much to offer, and for the most part, you may be right, but this is my home, and I’m proud of it.

So, let me introduce you to a new link-up that I’m excited about because it gives me the chance to highlight something awesome in one of my home towns each month!  The new Home Town Hop Link-Up!  I have some really great places I enjoy going to in Mississippi and I wouldn’t be surprised if you have great places in your area that you enjoy going to- places that I’ve never heard of or never been to, but maybe one day I will.  My hope for this link-up is that each of us can share the things we enjoy about our Home Town’s and then inspire or motivate another person to visit at some point.  Or maybe you’re already planning a trip somewhere, but you want to know what the locals do and where the locals eat, well check out the Home Town Hop Link-Ups and see who lives there or who can show you around.  I’m so excited to be hosting this link-up with Ashley @ Wannabe Green and I hope your excited about joining us the first Tuesday of every month to highlight your favorite thing in your home town!  Now grab the button, and get started on your Home Town Hop post!

Rules/Guidelines:

1// Link-Up every FIRST TUESDAY of the month

Friday Letters!

Photobucket

Dear Friday, I’m glad you’re here, but you’re going to be long… I have a lot of work to get done today and I’ll be at work from 8am until about 7pm.  Dear Ashley at the Sweet Season Blog (Host of this link-up), Congratulations on your pregnancy, I’m so excited for y’all and I know you’ve been wanting and praying for this for so long!  You have such a beautiful heart that shows through your blog and y’all deserve this happiness so much!  Dear Alabama Blate, thank y’all for welcoming this Mississippi girl right here!  I’m excited about meeting some fellow bloggers next Saturday in Birmingham and my sweet String Art Giveaway Winner is going to be there so I can take her gift then!  It’s finished and ready to go! I hope you like it Ashley!  Dear craft and Grey’s night, you were wonderful last night! In honor of Valentine’s Day we made pink colored pancakes, turkey bacon, and pink chocolate chip cookies with mimosa’s.  I have some amazing friends and I enjoyed spending precious time with them!  Dear Starbucks Friday, I considered going to buy a Starbucks this morning only after realizing I already started brewing my own pot of coffee at home, so instead, I used a Starbucks coffee cup.  I always see Holly post about Starbucks Friday and I always want to join in, but it’s always too late!

Y’all have a wonderful Friday and I hope all of you had a great Valentine’s Day and have a great weekend sweet blog friends!
