I haven’t had the chance to link up with my sweet friends Kalyn and Lauren since their first Coffee & Conversation, so I’m excited to be here today to have some coffee with you sweet friends and discuss their topic of choice!
Today’s Topic:
What are you currently struggling with in your life?
I think this is a wonderful question and something that I’m going to enjoy getting off my chest and talking with you fabulous bloggers about! At the moment I’m seriously struggling with a schedule. That may sound lame, I know there are plenty of other things in this world to struggle with, but my schedule has been weighing on my heart a lot lately! I work an 8-5 job and sometimes have to put in extra hours to get all my work done. I have biblestudy on Monday nights, church on Wednesday nights, and I try to have time set aside each day to spend with the Lord. On top of that, I really want to train for a race or a triathlon, so I need time to workout and train. It’s been a struggle for me to get out of the bed early enough to barely make it to work on time. Then I’m at work all day, sometimes working through lunch, eating at my desk, and then go home and do some cleaning, a little blogging, cook dinner, and spend time with friends and family.
My ideal schedule:
5AM – Wake Up
5:30AM – Gym
6:30AM – Shower and get ready for work
7:15 or 7:30 – Quiet time
8AM-5PM – Work
5PM-9PM – Dinner, Blog, Clean, Family and Friends
It’s the morning that I’m struggling with! I’m a natural born morning person, I love my mornings and I love having tons of quality time to myself in the morning to do various things (working out, not being one of them), but I have to workout in the morning in order to make sure it happens that day because the later it gets, the more likely it’s NOT happening. So although I love waking up early and sipping my coffee while doing my quiet time and catching up on blogs, I really need to rearrange my schedule to allow for a good workout in the morning and let the other stuff happen at night!
This is a constant struggle for me and something I need to work on, but it can be so hard when I love the quiet time of being alone in the morning before my sisters get up for school to have blogging and reading my bible. I know that God calls us to take care of his “temple” (my body) and getting in a good workout is part of that, so it’s something I must make happen and if doing that in the morning will make that happen, then that’s what I need to do!
That schedule would be so nice! Is it possible for anyone to actually stick to a schedule though? Because I just don’t see it in my future, as wonderful as it sounds!
Schedules are definitely hard, and trust me, I know what you mean about wanting to get up before everyone to have quiet time. I’m enjoying a bit of that myself right now because (with 5 people) sometimes it’s hard to come by! I love how much you try to make time for the Lord as well, I need to start working on a bit of that each day for myself.
I totally understand girl! I have been looking at my schedule and really trying to figure out what to change to organize it better. Between work, social life, all my ministry responsibilities because of my job, as well as just what i want, and then my marriage it’s a lot to juggle. I am learning that there is a balance in everything. Sometimes you need to set certain times to be “social” and things like that. Anything to make room for what needs to be your priorities.
Oh friend! I struggle with this as well! You are not alone! Back in Jan-Feb I was pulling 20 hours days just to get everything done for school, the blog, life, church, and husband. Finally I got sick and had to cut back. Let me know if you ever need anything and I will do my best to help you! From what I have learned, living with another person is helpful, taking time for yourself is amazing, and catching up on the weekend will do wonders for your week ๐ Thanks for sharing your heart, friend! Love you!
I can totally relate! It’s so difficult to organize a schedule where you get to do all that you want and pour into each area of life equally. I work but a very random schedule since I do consulting and utilizing a schedule to fully live life is a must for me! And I’m totally NOT a morning person haha, so jealous you are!
i feel the same way, i am constantly trying to find balance with my schedule… be productive, have fun and rest… you think it shouldnt be too hard, but sometimes it really is!
I struggle most with mornings too. I have it down to a science the last possible minute I can wake up… and even if I happen to wake up before that… I’ll still go back to sleep for just those few extra minutes. I’m just not a morning person ๐
I can really relate to your post! I am currently struggling with my schedule too. Like you I am having a hard time giving up my morning quiet time in order to exercise. Early morning is really the only times have to myself. I need a few more hours in the day.
I really am a morning person, and an evening person, but I love mornings. I struggle with forcing myself out of bed, lately!!

This can be such a struggle for me, it seems like when I get things figured out, something changes ๐

This can be something of a struggle for me since I work a job with an irregular schedule. I understand how it is frustrating.

Good luck with your new schedule!
I cannot workout in the morning. I have tried so many times sadly. I just do much better in the evening. BUt, I know it’s different for everyone
