Bloggie Pen Pals!

(Previously Bloggers Helping Bloggers)*Please read through to the end if you choose to participate*I posted about some bloggers that requested help/prayers/encouragement and it reminded me how great this blogging community is and how helpful we all are to each other! Wouldn’t it be great if you were paired with a blogger who had the responsibility to pray for you, encourage you, and help you in any way they can?! I thought it’d be a wonderful and exciting opportunity for bloggers to get paired up, get to know each other, and share prayer requests or exciting activities happening for the month. I have participated in multiple exchanges over the past few years (seasonal & monthly) and all of them were wonderful, but the truth is, there are times that I just can’t afford a $15 gift + shipping. This is a way for bloggers to still find encouragement and power in an exchange without having to hit their pocket book first.If your partner has a race coming up, send a tweet cheering them on. If they’re going through a personal struggle, commit to praying for them for the month.If you know they love starbucks, send them a surprise $5 giftcard happy in the mail.These are just a few examples. Rules of the Exchange:You have from the 20th-27th to sign up.You’ll receive your partner on the 1st of every month.You have until the 4th to contact your partner.Only 1 requirement: send a letter or note of encouragement *snail mail style!*
Ways to help your partner: Get to know them first, share any prayer requests, send encouraging notes & happies, guest post for each other, provide blogging tips/tricks, and any other great ideas you may have for your partner for the month.There won’t be any link-up at the end of the month because I feel like there are plenty of link-ups in the blogging world, but that’s why I encourage you to have them guest post, so you can still share who your partner is and use the button (located on my side bar) to let other people know that you met them through Bloggie Pen Pals. I hope this will grow into something powerful and encouraging and we’ll see tons of prayer requests answered and bloggers being encouraged on a daily basis!This is a JUDGEMENT FREE zone: Some bloggers will be in their means to send an additional gift and they are welcome/encouraged to do so while other bloggers may only be able to afford the simple letter or note. Be mindful of others situations. Don’t feel obligated or guilty to send a gift if you receive one. Don’t be upset if you send a gift and don’t get one in return. Bloggers SOS!

Obviously, there are a thousand reasons I love blogging: here, here, and here to name a few, but one of the greatest things about blogging is that you have the opportunity to see so much good in people. We are in this community where most of us have never actually met, but we connect. I wanted to share with you three opportunities where you can help other people.

{ONE}
Brooke @ Smiling Running Shoes recently contacted me about her grandfather who is going through a difficult time. You can read his story here. I agreed to send her grandfather a letter of encouragement as he makes his way through these difficult times. All she wants to do is cheer him up and give him something to smile about – Who doesn’t love unexpected letters in the mail?! If you’re interested in sending her grandfather a little note of encouragement and love, please e-mail Brooke @ smilingrunningshoes@gmail.com and she will provide you with the mailing address for your letter!

Samantha @ Hooah & Hiccups recently wrote about a dear friend who had a family friend that was recently in a motorcycle accident. She spoke about all the ways bloggers can help here. At the moment, I’m not financially able to give to help with medical bills and expenses, but I agreed to send him a letter of encouragement as well and if you have some time, I encourage you to do the same! Nick was in a motorcycle accident a few years back and it was one of the scariest things to get a call about.

A new blog exchange! As I was typing up this post, I came up with this fabulous idea for bloggers to help bloggers! I’ll post all the details and sign up information for it tomorrow, so be sure to check back! This will be a great opportunity for you to get to know new bloggers and find ways to encourage them and uplift them!

Dear Weekend, you’re going to be filled with great friends, volleyball, swimming, a beautiful wedding shower (that I’m co-hosting), possibly a sporadic trip to Memphis?, and whatever else I decide to indulge in! Dear Jessica, the Red Raider’s shirt you sent me in my CaraBox feels and fits great!

Dear JROTC workout this morning, you made me sweat like a frackin’ PIG! I was dripping… and I don’t sweat a lot, but I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and I’m looking forward to the next 3 weeks! Dear Lacy & Noelle, I’m so excited that y’all want to do the triathlon with me in August! I’ll do my best to be a great training buddy. Dear fatty junky bad for me food, you better beware because I’m about to cut you out of my diet! You’ve tempted me for the past few weeks since my triathlon and I’m feeling gross… I need some healthy awesome food in this body! Dear Pitch Perfect, I’m loving your soundtrack! Anna Kendrick, you’re kind of my girl crush right now. Don’t worry, I’m not stalking!

For y’all’s (yes, I’m adopting that as proper plural for y’all) enjoyment… I had a blast roller skating last night, it’s been years!
