Oh, so sweet!

It’s sweet to finally be home.  I’ve been gone for 2 long amazing weeks, in 4 different locations and although I had an amazing time, there is nothing like being back with all of your belongings and taking a shower in your own shower and sleeping in your own bed.  I’m practically unpacked, I have a load or two of laundry to do and I can get back to my normal life of applying for jobs and running errands here and there.

It’s sweet to enter into this even sweeter giveaway I have going on.  If you’ve never tried Go Picnic, but are curious, then seriously…. GO ENTER!  You can do so RIGHT HERE!

It’s sweet to be gone for so long and receive packages in the mail.  I had won a giveaway right before I headed out of town, so I had a nice little package on my bed when I got home last night.

It’s sweet to find a new favorite breakfast.  While I was in Atlanta, my aunt made us everything bagels with egg and cheese.  For some reason, I’ve never been big on breakfast sandwiches, but she was making them and so I went ahead and had one for breakfast.  OMG – it hit the spot.  I’m all of a sudden in love with egg & cheese everything bagels.  I’m picking up some bagels tomorrow so I can continue to make them here, but I’m also nervous about eating it too often and then getting tired of it, so I need to watch that.

It’s sweet to have some part time work for now.  Yes, job hunting is the pits.  I hate it.  I know I will find the right job for me at some point, but right now it stinks.  I’m thankful that I have some side consulting work and clerical work here and there though to help provide me with a little extra spending money.

It’s sweet to have blogging friends.  Like really awesome, “hey, we’ve met in person and I crazy like you” blogging friends.  I know I’ve mentioned probably a thousand times too many my excitement over meeting Meg last weekend at the Disney Wine & Dine Race.  When I got home, I found a super awesome package from Meg that she actually sent BEFORE our race….

I don’t think it’s possible to be more in love with a blogger… I guess it helps when she OBVIOUSLY knows your love language!  Just sayin….
Anyways, during our trip to Disney, we had some super great ideas planned out… We wanted to film an interview vlog together so our readers could learn a little more about us.  We ran out of time here and there because well, we were at Disney and time is money, money is time, lots to do, places to go, people to see… anyways, we ended up filming our “interview” right before the race.  I mean seriously, folks, we couldn’t have timed this more perfect.  Also, we could probably win “Guiness Book of World Records” for FASTEST INTERVIEW.   Check it out!
And just be warned… terrible lighting and zero editing….

So….. that’s a win. for sure.

What are some SWEET things going on in your life right now?
Do you have any SWEET posts you want me to read, in case I missed them while I was out of town?

23 Ways to Enjoy Go Picnic + A Giveaway!

It’s no secret that my new favorite find this fall is Go Picnic!  I discovered them while I was attending Blog Elevated and I have not looked back!  I used my first Go Picnic meal when I was at Blog Elevated, I then used my second Go Picnic meal on a bike ride.  I’m about to tell you how I used my third Go Picnic meal as well as share some other creative ways to use this amazing product!  Be sure to make it to the end because I’m giving two of these awesome meals away!

When I was thinking through what to bring on my trip to Disney, Go Picnic crossed my mind as the perfect lunch on the road.  I was waiting to use my Turkey Pepperoni and Cheese meal and figured that I’d really enjoy an easy, inexpensive meal while traveling.  I ended up not using the meal on the road, but chose to wait until my dinner before the race.  The Disney Wine & Dine Half-Marathon was a 10pm night race.  I knew that I needed to eat something healthy, but not too heavy around 6pm before I left the hotel.  Turns out, Go Picnic was the perfect thing for my rumbling stomach before the race!  Unfortunately, I was way too HANGRY to be patient enough to take pictures of my meal this time, so I dug right in!

In the Turkey Pepperoni and Cheese meal, It came with the same Multi-grain crackers as the Hummus meal, so I already knew those were delicious.  Again, I could have used a few more crackers in the pack.  It also came with a pack of cheese and a wooden spoon to scoop it onto your cracker.  The Turkey Pepperoni was good, but it was a little greasy for my taste – I probably wouldn’t choose this one on a regular basis (like I would the Hummus meal), but it’ll be a great meal to add variety to my lunches.  I then got a packet of dried cranberries and pineapples – they were delicious and sweet!  I almost felt like I got two desserts because of how sweet the dried fruit was.  Lastly, I tremendously enjoyed the toffee candy!

I cannot say enough great things about Go Picnic and I’m so honored to have worked with them over the past month.  I will be a constant user of Go Picnic meals from now on!  What I love about Go Picnic is that it’s not just for a Picnic lunch – there are SO MANY WAYS that you could use Go Picnic.  I’ve even created a list of some great ways to use Go Picnic!

Satchels: Pre-Disney!

So before we actually made our way to Disney this past weekend, we had a few stops along our route.  We left early Wednesday morning and headed down to Gainesville, FL.  During the drive, I insisted that we stop at Panera Bread for lunch because holy goodness do I miss having one of those around!! Y’all… there is not a single one in Mississippi (at least not last time I checked!).  I had a bunch of food in the car, so I tried to save some money by just getting a bagel and it was soooo good!  I’d never tried an everything bagel, but I really enjoyed it.

One of my good friends from the Disney College Program, practically like the little brother I never had, goes to the University of Florida in Gainesville and so I told him we’d stop by to have dinner.  I haven’t seen him in almost a year!  He promised to take us to a unique place in town and it did NOT disappoint!  The restaurant was called Satchels and it was a local pizza joint.  They had some super unique decorations and the atmosphere was very hipster, vibrant, and fun.

I seriously LOVED the keys glued to the wall, I thought it was such a great idea!
Another thing that was really neat about this place was that they didn’t take cards, you had to use an ATM machine to pay with cash and although that is way annoying, the fee that it costs to do so is donated to a charity organization.  That sounds great and I was happy to do so, although later I found out that my bank also charged me… so I ended up paying $4 in fees to get $20 cash and $2.50 of those fees went to my bank because of that.  Neat idea, but still not ideal for customers in my opinion, but I was happy to have a portion of that go towards a charity.

The pizza was huge and delicious and I had no other complaints about the experience!  I got just a slice of pizza and it was big and filling.  We also splurged on desserts.  We each purchased a dessert and shared them among each other.  You could view their dessert menu through these old school things!

Here are some more great pictures from the evening!
Me and David.  They had a little store off of the restaurant for you to look through while you wait on your table.  They text you when your table is ready, so no carrying around those annoying beeper things.

There’s always money in the banana stand.

You can eat inside of this bus.  It’s cramped and hot and we didn’t eat in there, but it was empty when we passed by, so we stopped for a little photo op!

Just perusing the dessert menu!  I chose the chocolate brownie, of course!

Have you ever tried Satchels in Gainesville?
Be looking for more Disney posts comings next week!
Happy Thursday friends.
I’ll be visiting my Nanny and my friend Joel tonight while here in Atlanta.  At the moment, I’m sipping on some french pressed coffee (delish!) and working on business Christmas cards for my Aunt & Uncle.
Also, I have a possible job opportunity that I just found out about.  I don’t want to get my hopes up or talk too openly about it, but prayers and thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I give them a call today!
What plans do you have today?!
