It’s a Random Tuesday!

I’m sure I’ll choose to link up with different bloggers at some point for the days when I don’t really have a main topic to share, but today I decided to just blog about some of my totally random favorite things!  I saw a link up for Top 5 Tuesday, but the topic was perfume… and well, even though I have top 5 picks for today, none of them had anything to do with perfume, so I may research that more later, but for now…

1. My new Purse – Target!
I mean, who doesn’t love Target.. the style, the price, the awesomeness?  Well, I do in fact, LOVE Target! This weekend, I purchased a few fabulous items, the first thing I ran to, was this awesome brown purse.  I’m looking to find some of those brown riding boots that would match it so perfectly with a cute pair of skinny jeans!

2. German Baby Lotion
I have this amazingly beautiful friend from Germany.  She married my best friend’s brother and we have just gotten so close over the past year or so.  I stayed with her and Ryan the weekend that my best friend got married and she shared this fabulous lotion with me! It’s German Baby Lotion and she said it’s the only thing she’s ever used…. water and German baby lotion! Now, I know that people’s skin types are different and what works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another, but I put this stuff on most nights before I go to bed after washing my face and when I wake up, my skin looks absolutely radiant, no redness or blemishes, it’s smooth and clear… it seems almost like a miracle worker, so I’m converted and let’s just say, that I’ll be placing some orders next time she returns home to Germany!

3. Note Cards – Target
While at Target this weekend, I also picked up some note cards because of my 101 in 1001 challenge.  I’m writing a letter to someone who has been an inspiration to me for the next 33 months, so I picked up these cute cards that aren’t too big to where my letter will be lengthy, but aren’t so small that I can’t fit what I want on them.  Do you like?

4. Gloves and Mittens
Now that Thanksgiving and Christmas are nearing, the weather is changing and it’s getting cooler on my morning runs and my morning bike rides to school, so I’m sooo THANKFUL for these babies right here!  The black gloves are fantastic, they are super warm, great for running, also pair up nicely with a professional outfit and they were a Christmas Gift from my boyfriend, so I love love love them! The cute adorable Blue and Gold mittens were a Christmas gift last year from my boyfriend’s best friend.  That may seem weird, but I guess it’s become our little tradition.  Nick and I try to get Joel a good present and then Joel, I guess thinks he has to get us something separate? (Which he doesn’t!)Because this is year 2 that I’ve gotten something also. But these mittens are super cute, warm, and I just love them!

5. The best playing cards
A mentor of mine got married this August and as a wedding favor, we got a deck of playing cards with their names and the dates.  It was by far, my FAVORITE wedding favor ever! I can’t open them though because they’re so pretty… she said she has some extras, so I may need to snag another pack, but I adore these!

Those are the things I’m loving right now, just picked some at Random for this Random Tuesday post!
p.s. The date isn’t 2009/3/21… my camera is whacked out right now, It’s giving me issues 🙁

Oh, What a Surprise!

First… my 3:30 class was cancelled, which was a nice surprise because I feel like I waste a lot of time in there, it’s not that I don’t enjoy the class, my teacher is AMAZING, but all we do really is chit chat… and with my busy schedule, I feel like I could be more productive at home, cleaning or organizing or studying!

Second… I received two lovely packages in the mail today! eeeekk! I’m excited!  The first package, was from Michelle @ Brunette and Blessed because I won her awesome contest for the most adorable hair pin!  So that made my day and I can’t wait to find an outfit to match it with!  The next package I received was for my Halloween Costume, which I’m super excited about! Me and the guy are going to be Where’s Waldo and Where’s Wenda for Halloween this year!  We both have ordered red and white striped long sleeve shirts, red and white striped beanie hats with a red ball on top, and black rimmed glasses.  I also got red and white striped knee high socks for my outfit to pair with a blue jean skirt!  So my red and white striped socks came in today and I’m sooo excited about our outfits!

*My socks and the hair pin!*
The hair pin came in a cute little orange bag along with a note from Michelle!

Although I have a huge test and quiz tomorrow, my class being cancelled and my two packages in the mail sure did make a great start to a long night of studying! 🙂

Laps for Little Ones

Every year, my youngest sister and I go to the event called Laps for Little Ones and Struttin’ Their Stuff.  It’s an event that raises money for a school for mentally and physically disabled children.  The school costs nothing to the parents of the children which is why fundraising is so important.  My sister has been volunteering here for MANY years now!  I was only able to volunteer one summer, but these precious angels touched my heart and I come back every year to run in Laps for Little Ones to help raise money for the school and I will probably ALWAYS come back no matter where my career takes me in order to run for this cause.  Every year they do a cute theme, the first year we did it the theme was “The Wizard of Oz”
Sweet Tin Man and Dorothy!
This particular year, both of my sisters did it with me.

The second year I did it, the theme was “Sesame Street” and this year….. the theme was “Dr. Seuss!”

Me and ‘Nessy!  Unfortunately they only had L shirts left, so they practically swallow us! haha

It was a lot of fun!  After the registered runners/walkers run laps for one hour, then they have the students at The Little Light House “Strut their Stuff!”  It is SO precious!  They talk about all of their accomplishments for the year and they cross their finish line and get a medal.  This is an experience like no other and I will continually come back home to participate in this event!

What events do you participate in year after year because it touches or your heart or has a significant meaning in your life??
