Fabulous Holiday Blog Challenge {DAY TWO}

Fabulous Holiday Blog Challenge

Today, I’m linking up with Amber and Neely again for the Day Two of the Holiday Blog Challenge!  Isn’t this super fun guys??  I’m having a blast!

Day Two: Fave Holiday Tradition, New or Old

I have TWO! for Day TWO! haha (wow, I’m lame awesome)
Both of these family traditions were just started last year, but we liked them so much that we decided we would do it every year if we can.  Both of these are great for us being grown children now in the family, but still some what childish to let us feel young at heart!

First, we buy the large gingerbread house kit that makes FIVE little gingerbread houses (perfect for our family because there are five of us!) — On a side note, it’s nice to see five of something, because most family packs of things are only four and we could never get those because one of us would be left out, so five was PERFECT!  We get together one night around Christmas and make our gingerbread houses together, laughing at what others have come up with, then we make hot chocolate and really just enjoy family time that evening playing games or something.  Here is my gingerbread house from last year!

Second, we go to see the Canton Lights.  Have you ever seen My Dog Skip?  That movie was filmed in Canton, MS.  Canton has a huge Christmas display where they have tall trees with lights and different light displays all in the middle of their square.  We walk around the cute shops and maybe buy a thing or two and we always stop at this little shop to get beignet’s that I know, are not from New Orleans, but are SUPER DELICIOUS!

Here’s the girls of the family when we all arrived at Canton this Christmas
(L-R Back) Aunt Karen, Me, Ness (sis), Tiff (sis), Mom
(L-R Front) Cousins Ashley and Megan.

And just because this is the cutest puppy you ever did see, I’m adding in a little extra happy for all you amazing readers!  Take a look at my most adorable puppy dog, Cappie, all decked out in his reindeer outfit because he helps Santa every Christmas!!

Sorry, the pic was from my phone and it’s a bit blurry, but you get the idea of how adorable he is!

MERRY CHRISTMAS BLOG FRIENDS!

Catch up Day: 101 in 1001 swap, #16 complete on 101 in 1001, and race time!

Hi blogger friends!

It’s been a WHILE since I’ve posted.  I didn’t do any posting during the holidays: 1. because I didn’t have my computer with me and 2. because I was busy with family and friends the entire week… I mean, ENTIRE WEEK!

So first off: I want to share with you what I got from my awesome swap partner for 101 in 1001!  And may I say, it definitely helped me ALREADY achieve one of my 101 in 1001 goals! ๐Ÿ™‚

First, I got a little pocket organizer which I’m guessing is for being able to shop completely on coupons one day! (Notice the glitter?  It came from my other gifts! lol I’m working on getting it cleaned up!)

And ornaments to be able to “go all out decorating for Christmas” (which, by the way, I have done this year!) Thanks to Britney I have some amazing ornaments for my tree! ๐Ÿ™‚  And in my tiny little apartment, I have a BIG tree!

These are the other ornaments I got for my tree, CUTE HUH?

So that was super exciting and those ornaments came at the PERFECT TIME!  Because I am all decked out for the holidays!

I have a huge tree strung with lights and I’m waiting to get a few more ornaments (being a college kid, I don’t really have many of my own yet!)  I also created an idea from pinterest with the ornaments hanging from the window, I put one in my living room and I’m awaiting to put one in my kitchen window!  Then I also put garland strung lights in my kitchen entrance and there are some outside around my apartment door (not pictured!)  I had such a blast with my sister decorating and cleaning today!!

Thanksgiving Re-cap!
I went to Destin with the boyfriend for a few days with him fam and that was a lot of fun, we rode bikes A LOT, did a little shopping, flew a kite (which was awesome!) and I went running a few times to prep for my race!  Then I spent a good bit of time with family Wednesday night and Thursday.  Thursday morning I ran the Turkey Day 8k in Ridgeland and that was amazing!  I finished in 51:37, which was EXTREMELY pleasing because with my shin splints earlier this month, I was just hoping to finish within the hour!  Then Thursday was lunch with the boyfriends Family and then I went to the Canton Lights with my family!  Now I’m back in Starkville and ready to finish off the last TWO WEEKS of school!! This is the last week of classes, then one week of finals, then GRADUATION!!! There are going to be SOOO many people in town to celebrate this time with me, I’m so excited and so ready!!

I am thankful for blogging, it’s been a great way to share stories and comment on my training and just a good place to vent out things I want to share!  I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving and is geared up and ready to go for Christmas, I know I am!! ๐Ÿ™‚
