Ignorant People

Sometimes we just need to rant about the ignorant people in this world.  I’m not gonna lie…. there are a lot of them.  I try to stay positive for the most part, I try to be friendly to those I see while I’m out and about, but there are those people…. that for the life of me, I cannot help but think that they are the most ignorant people I’ve ever met or laid eyes on.

# People who don’t love Disney…. Stitch and I are ready to attack you if you say anything negative about Disney.  Seriously…. This is not a joke.  We’re also ready to attack all of the following ignorant people in this world.

# The people who will stop traffic for 5 minutes in the middle of the parking lot to get a good parking space.  Just walk – you probably need it!

# The same people who wait for 5 minutes and clearly assume no one is behind them because they obviously don’t look in their rear view mirror when they start reversing and then hit the poor girl that’s walking behind their car – Y’ALL!  I literally witnessed this in the Target parking lot last weekend.  I was so furious, I had to force myself to drive away because I almost jumped out of my car and beat them to a pulp.

# The people who don’t use their blinker.  It’s there for a reason.

Clearly I have some road rage issues at the moment….

# The people who let their dogs roam free through the neighborhood. – People are running/biking/trying to be active and enjoy the fresh air outside.  How the heck can I do that when your yappy snot-nosed dog is chasing after me?  Put them on a leash or keep them in the backyard.

# The people who don’t wear a helmet when riding their bike (or a motorcycle!) – That’s just common sense.

# The people who are mean for no reason at all – Like when you’re at a restaurant and you over-hear a customer being rude to the waiter for a ‘mistake’ or ‘accident’…. Have some sympathy, kindness, and/or patience.  I assume that’s not a fun or easy job and to top it off, they have to deal with your ignorant self, which can’t be easy.  It was a mistake… life will go on.

# The people who park in a handicap spot, but are NOT handicapped.  – In addition, the people who use a handicap sign that is not theirs.

# The people who go Black Friday shopping and then complain or huff when you’re taking an extra lengthy time checking-out. – This happened… a long time ago… but it annoyed me.  You decided, with your own free will, to go Black Friday Shopping at midnight at Target.  I assume you wouldn’t be so ignorant to think that you wouldn’t have to wait in a ridiculous line – I was wrong.  Clearly.

# The people who “sleep around” or have “one night stands” on the regular.  Is it just me, or does that gross anyone else out?  There are emotions and STD’s and potential tiny humans to consider here…. just stop it.

# The people who post nothing but selfie’s on Instagram… and Twitter… and Face Book…. I do remember what your face looks like.  It looked the same yesterday… and the day before that… and the day before that…. Seriously – You can stop now.  I will un-follow you.

And Lastly….

# The haters – yes, I’m talking about the Valentine’s Day Haters… (Yeah, I’m late on my views about this).  Why are you ignorant, you ask?  Because the truth is, I think you’re bitter.  I think you hate it because you’re afraid it won’t live up to your expectations.  On top of that, I think you’re ignorant for thinking Valentine’s day is only important to couples.  It’s a day to show love to everyone.  On Christmas Day, you don’t say “Jesus, I’m sorry but I’m a Christian all the other days of the year, I don’t think Christmas Day should be celebrated”  On July 4th, you don’t say “Hmm… you know, I’m an American all the other days of the year, July 4th just really isn’t that important”  NO, YOU CRAZY PERSON!  So why would you be so hateful towards Valentine’s Day?  It’s a day of love – and not just a “I’m in a relationship” type of love, but a love your neighbor as yourself.  This world doesn’t show love the rest of the year like it should, there is hate all around us, mean and cruel people – why would you belittle those who choose to LOVE deeper and LOVE stronger and LOVE more compassionately on Valentine’s day?  Aren’t we more patriotic around July 4th?  Aren’t we more “spiritual” or “christian like” around Easter and Christmas?  Yes, we should be all of these things throughout the year, but the truth is…. we’re human and we’re not.  So shut up, and show some freakin’ love on Valentine’s Day, because the world needs it!

What ignorant people do you deal with?

Bliss :: Link-Up!

Welcome to our very first Bliss Link-Up!  Meg and I are excited to jump around and see what all of you are loving this month.  Your favorite things can be products you love this month or even a favorite person or moment in time from the month – there are no limits!

Here are some of my favorite things from this past month

{1} Black Onyx Stud Earrings
I got these earrings for Christmas from Nick’s sister-in-law (she makes amazing jewelry!), but I’ve been LOVING them this month and I think every girl needs a pair in their wardrobe.  They’re simple, beautiful, and perfect for work.  I’d say they’re probably great for mom’s out there too because they’re studs – so no dangling earrings for the kiddos to snatch.  You can grab your own pair of earrings HERE, plus she has other colors.  I’m craving the Blue Howlite studs at the moment

{2} Nick coming home TWICE!
I’m seriously loving the fact that I haven’t traveled at all during the month of February and Nick has made it home twice.  It’s usually opposite, but this month worked out so great.  We’ve had some awesome times this month too and those 2 weekends definitely brought me Bliss!

{3} Oikos Greek Yogurt Dip
This is by far my most favorite dip!  I’m a huge dip/sauce person.  I love chick-fil-a french fries in their ranch dip.  I love tortilla chips and salsa.  I love fried tofu smothered in hot honey mustard sauce.  I am now in love with Oikos Greek Yogurt Dip and Baked Ruffles.  I would probably prefer regular Ruffles, but I assume the Baked chips are better for me.  The great thing about this dip is that it has good protein because it uses Greek yogurt for the base.  When I would eat dips and chips, I would eventually get a tummy ache because of all the sugar and the fact it had no nutritional substance, but with the protein in this yogurt, I don’t feel sick after eating it.  Seriously – TRY IT NOW!

{4} Vegan Double Chocolate Cookies and Kevita
This is no surprise because I’ve constantly been talking about it since Whole Foods opened in Jackson, but this has been one of my most favorite things this month!  If you live near a Whole Foods, you must try BOTH of these items!

Here are some favorite posts of mine from this month:
Whole Foods finally opened in Jackson
I made a January Mini Video
I finally got back into running
The perks of having a real job
Veggie Grilled Cheese

Here are some favorite posts from other bloggers:

Adding in some of my favorite blogs at the end of my Bliss post is something I hope to get better at.  I’d like to find unique content and unique bloggers to feature, so I’ll be keeping my eye out for some great posts you shouldn’t be missing!

KMU: A failed attempt!

I’m excited to share my failed attempt at Kitchen Mix Up this month.  Amanda and Meg changed it up a bit and gave us a “theme”.  The theme for the month of February was obvious… Valentine’s Day!  Sure, maybe Valentine’s Day has passed and these ideas may not work for you anymore, but you can definitely change these up!

You know those adorable “Eggs in a Basket” – seem simple enough right?  WRONG.  I assumed I could just cut out my basket and drop the egg in the middle.  I decided to make a heart with my basket for Valentine’s Day, but you can’t even tell that it’s suppose to be a heart!  Other ideas if you dare to try this little concoction: A 4-leaf clover for St. Patrick’s Day, A Micky Mouse head, or a Christmas Tree.
This girl on the other hand – she knows what the heck she is doing.  So if you’re actually interested in making this beauty work, check out her pin and blog!

I do have some other ideas for Valentine’s inspired treats since this one didn’t quite work out in my favor.  If an egg in a basket isn’t your speed (i.e. You lack talent just like I do) then try these simpler options for Valentine’s Day – Most people can bake cookies and make pancakes, just throw in some food coloring and you’re good to go!

These are vegan chocolate chip cookies and they are DELICIOUS! I threw in some pink food coloring and they were great for Valentine’s Day.  I dug into quite a few myself, but because these were homemade, the recipe made a lot so I took the rest to work.

These were just regular pancakes that I made.  I’m pretty sure I bought the shake & pour mix that is super easy.  You literally pour some water in the bottle, shake it up, and pour the pancake mix onto the griddle.  I added some pink food coloring though and voila!

Don’t forget, you can also use green food coloring for St. Patrick’s Day and Red/White/Blue for July 4th.  I love using food coloring in simple recipes because you can brighten up any dish!

All the pink colored food was how I celebrated Valentine’s Day last year and maybe this years epic failure was a sign that I should stick to what I know haha!  I’m kidding though – I think it’s great to step outside of your comfort zone to try something new, but I’m not sure “egg in a basket” will be worth a second try in my book.
