Sausage Biscuit + Dreams & Aspirations!

Good Morning, friends!

I just got done with a nice 30 minute jog.  It was a little hot out, but I got up early enough to beat the intense Southern heat.  I love getting out before the sun’s coming up because sometimes you catch the most beautiful scenes.  Mine this morning wasn’t exactly the best I’ve ever seen, but I can’t help but love anytime I see sun peeking through trees!

BREAKFAST this morning consisted of a nice cup of coffee that my dad made before heading out on his morning walk {Sometimes I like to treat myself with whipped cream.} And then one of my favorite’s: A vegetarian sausage biscuit.  I use Morning Star Farms sausage and Pillsbury Grand Flaky Layer biscuits.

I got this adorable mug c/o Racoon Spoon last Christmas!  It’s one of my favorites.

This morning on my jog, I was thinking about my dreams… and how they have developed over the years, from a child to an adult.  Did you know that at one point I wanted to be an ER surgeon? {I can thank Grey’s Anatomy for that!} And now… even though I would love to wear comfortable scrubs & shoes to work everyday, I can’t imagine actually enjoying that.  I’m so glad there are people who do though!  As a child, I more than likely wanted to be a teacher because me and my sisters would play school and I had to be the one teaching.  I used a podium, white board, & all!  It’s no surprise that I had a little entrepreneurial spirit in my though – I always wanted to play store, making my sisters purchase items that already belonged to them!  When I got to college though, I settled on business & marketing.  I love the concept of networking (hello!  Obviously why I probably enjoy blogging.)  I love the job I have now, it’s perfectly suited for me, but I know that I have other dreams and aspirations too.  Not that I would ever want to leave where I am now, but I want to eventually do MORE!  I’d like to start my own business.  I’d like to travel with my blog.  I’d like to publish an e-book or two.  I’d like to start a blog conference/workshop in the Southern region.  I’m 25 years old, with a lot that I’d still like to accomplish.  It’s just funny how your dreams change over time – heck, these may all change next year!

  • What did you want to be as a kid?
  • Is that what you’re doing now?
  • What are some dreams you have now as an adult?

New Blog: Transition!

Good morning!

This has been a long anticipated transition.  I had been using my previous blog, From Here to There, for some time, but the name no longer fit this season in my life since I’m no longer moving around or figuring out my place in life.  I lost interest and stopped blogging over the past month or so.  I became a vegetarian back in January and so my “dead” blog (Yes, No Bologna did exist once before) has been revived and is now what you see today!  I’ll keep From Here to There up for another week or so, but if you enjoy reading my previous blog, then you’ll want to make sure you follow along here so you don’t miss anything when the transition is complete!

Yesterday morning I went on a good run.  It was more intervals than anything because I was pretty sore in my butt & calves.  I’m starting to notice that I sweat more and I’ve heard that people who are in better shape sweat a whole lot, so I’m hoping that’s the case and not single-handedly because it’s June in Mississippi!

sweaty-runNick came into town for the weekend, after my run, we all went to eat mexican for Father’s Day.  It was delicious, per usual!  I got my typical rice w/ sauteed veggies & cheese dip.  After lunch we needed to pick up my dad’s gift and settled on a gardening hat & mockingbird feeder for his garden.  He loved it and hung up the feeder right away!  My sisters were also in town this weekend, so we played some Phase 10 and ate up some watermelon – which is quite possibly my all time favorite summer snack!

We are also saying “See ya real soon!” {in my best Mickey voice} to Nick’s brother and sister-in-law as they move on to Florida!!  While we went to Disney back in May, we picked up our baby gifts.  We finally gave them those yesterday and they LOVED them, of course!  Baby has his very first signature book and the softest, cutest little baby Mickey rattle!

The love I have for these people is unreal!  So blessed to have them in my life! Also, that fuschia top is my fave!  I got it through Stitch Fix (affiliate link!)

Nick and I also went to see 22 Jump Street and it was HILARIOUS!  I was skeptical, but I laughed throughout the whole thing and loved it!!

Now I’m off to work, but hope y’all have a great Monday!

  • Have you seen 22 Jump Street Yet?  Did you love it or hate it?
  • What’s your favorite summertime snack?
