Peanut Butter Pie {Recipe}

Every year for Thanksgiving, I make Peanut Butter Pie.  Being the peanut butter junkie that I am, it only makes sense to enjoy peanut butter on one of my favorite days of the year!  I’m also a huge chocolate person though and so I had one of those “light bulb” moments where I just knew that I could incorporate chocolate into this already simple peanut butter pie!  Below you’ll find both recipes.

Peanut Butter Pie Recipe

Ingredients:
Graham Cracker Pie Crust
1 pkg (8 oz.) Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup creamy peanut butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 tub (8 oz.) Cool Whip

Directions:
Mix Cream Cheese, peanut butter, sugar, and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.  Gently stir in 1-1/2 cups whipped topping.  Spoon mixture into pie crust.  Refrigerate for 2-4 hours or overnight (preferred) and then top pie with the remainder of the whipped topping.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Recipe

Ingredients:
Graham Cracker Pie Crust
1 pkg (8 oz.) Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 melted chocolate chips
3/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 tub (8 oz.) Cool Whip

Directions:
In one bowl, mix 4 oz. cream cheese, peanut butter, 1/2 of the sugar, 1/2 tbsp. vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.  In another bowl, mix 4 oz. cream cheese, melted chocolate chips, 1/2 of the sugar, 1/2 tbsp. vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.  Gently stir in 3/4 cup of whipped topping into each bowl.  Spoon chocolate mixture into pie crust first, then spoon peanut butter mixture on top.  Refrigerate for 2-4 hours or overnight (preferred) and then top pie with the remainder of the whipped topping.

***************************
As you can see, the chocolate peanut butter pie is a little more involved than just the regular peanut butter, but I think it was worth the effort!! I believe I enjoyed the chocolate peanut butter pie a lot more than my typical peanut butter pie!

Happy Thanksgiving from me to you, hope you are filled with delicious food, dessert, and thanks this holiday season!

Oh yum!! These look heavenly! I want to try making the chocolate peanut butter pie but with an Oreo crust, that would be my PERFECT dessert!
