What I’m learning…

On my run the other day! I love the fall colors of the trees, the weather is beautiful here in MS right now!

So I feel like I’ve been a pretty good blogger lately, I’m not trying to toot my own horn, but I’ve been good about getting posts out there daily and commenting on blogs and responding to comments.  I follow a ton of blogs though (even after cleaning through my reader to discard those that rarely posted or that I wasn’t too interested in, sorry…) and I find myself being about 200 deep in blog posts I need to catch up on.  I have learned a few things though since I’ve improved my blogging… 1) Scheduling posts is amazing, but I don’t recommend doing it all the time.  I had quite a few posts already typed and scheduled the past few weeks, and although I felt like that made me a better blogger, I also feel like y’all lost some realness from me.  I wasn’t discussing what was going on throughout my day (and honestly you may not care!), but it made me feel connected, so although I love scheduling, I’m going to try to limit those posts so that I am still creating throughout the week and letting my blog speak about my day to day life as well… 2) Commenting on blogs really helps you connect with other bloggers and gain followers of your own.  My followers have increased a lot lately (at least I feel that way!) and I’m so excited about it.  Blogging isn’t about followers though and I want to enjoy blogging and I want others to enjoy what they read, but it helps give me the confidence to continue blogging because I can see that people are continuing to follow and that excites me.  If you’re an old follower from when I first started my little blog, THANK YOU and if you’re a new follower, WELCOME!  I’m so happy to have you along!  If you have any topics or things you want me to cover here on the blogosphere, feel free to let me know!… 3) This is an ecouraging space.  There are really great days, days when everything is going semi-right and I am in an upbeat mood and life is great, but there are also days when I’m not having such a great day and times when I express that on the blog.  I’m not happy about it or proud of it and I don’t find myself taking things too far with my disappointment of the day, but I appreciate the bloggers who encourage me and build me up on those rougher days.  My blog has been such an encouraging place for me.  I have found ladies that I would seriously LOVE to meet in person!  If you’re ever in Mississippi, shoot me an e-mail! And I hope you don’t think I’m too crazy if I try to meet up with you when I’m in your area!

I just wanted to thank you all for the wonderful experience you’ve given me blogging and I hope our relationships continue to build and we get the opportunity to meet one day or exchange e-mails getting to know each other or be partnered up in a swap!  My GFC count is now at 75 and I’m so thankful for that and once 100 hits, I’ll be having my first giveaway and I’m contemplating a new blog design to celebrate!

Yes, I promised a vlog… and yes, it is coming.  I didn’t have time to film it last night, so it may get pushed back to either later tonight or tomorrow! I didn’t get any questions, so I don’t have a lot to talk about, but I did want to put a face with a voice to create a new level to our friendship so it’s going to be a randomness of a vlog, but I hope you still take the time to watch!

Recent Product Finds!

Thought I’d enlighten y’all on some recent product finds that I’m excited about!
{One}
International Delight Peppermint Mocha Creamer
It’s so smooth and delicious, and as a Marketer, I must say that the packaging caught my eye, it was very appealing and probably 50% of the reason I bought it, so I applaud you International Delight

{Two}
Dark Chocolate M&M’s
I keep these handy on my Desk!  They taste just the same if not better and dark chocolate is always healthier for you, so it’s a win-win!

{Three}
Mr. Coffee Coffee Pot
I’ve been in serious need of a new coffee pot for a WHILE, and I borrowed one from a friend, but it just didn’t make the best coffee, so I debated on whether I wanted to get a good one that I would enjoy for a long time or super cheap one that will last me long enough until I have more money and can buy a good one. I went with this reasonably priced beauty and the great thing is that I can also order an insulated carafe, so that will be my next purchase!

{Four}
B.B. Cream
This stuff is wonderful, it makes your complexion look so smooth!

{Five}
Candle Cottage Candles
This candle smells amazing and they had so many other great scents, but with it being fall, this was perfect!  It’s in a cute little mason-like jar with a screw top and I just adore it!
*I am in no way compensated for mentioning these items on the blog, these are personal opinions*
Also, I’m planning on doing my VERY FIRST Vlog! It’s going to be a general “get to know me” vlog, I love having a face with a name with a voice, so I’ll just be talking about generic things about myself, but if you have ANY questions about me, my life, my time at Disney, running, Kawasaki Disease (bet you’re curiosity is getting at you now! haha), my job, my family, my pets, WHATEVER, then feel free to ask me by TONIGHT. I’ll be filming the vlog later tonight, so send me some questions friends! It will post TUESDAY, NOV. 13 (that’s tomorrow!)

DIY: “Date Night” or “Activity” Jar

I know you’ve all seen these posts or pins about the date night jar or an activity jar.  I decided that Nick and I needed one because honestly, our nights are usually spent watching re-runs of How I Met Your Mother (is that a surprise? I’m sure it’s not because I talk about it all the time!).  So I got in a crafty mood last weekend and got to work!

What you need:
Items I already had: Glue gun, glue sticks, the vase, twine, and scissors
I chose to save money on buying an actual mason jar and instead went with a vase I already had stored in the cabinet not being used.
Items I bought: Blue Ribbon ($0.24), Black Lace ($0.99), Rubber Cement ($1.88), Wood Sticks ($2.47), Pearl flower accessories ($1.27), and the Scrapbook Paper ($5.00) TOTAL OF $11.85
I have a lot of leftover material though for future crafts or to add more date sticks to the jar.

First, I hot glued the lace to the ribbon for the decoration on the vase

This was a beast to hot glue on the vase, I finally got it somewhat straight

I then hot glued the twine in the center of the blue ribbon and added these adorable pearl flower accessories.

Then I used the rubber cement to glue the sticks to the back of the scrapbook paper and then cut them out.   This was time consuming.  I had to add a little more cement or hot glue to the ends of the sticks, but it all worked out.

Then I used a sharpie to write on the sticks the dates I thought of
Honestly, I researched some ideas… I’m pretty boring!

And put all the sticks in the jar.  One thing I didn’t really think through was that a lot of the backs of the sticks will show through the vase, so it’s not as colorful as I’d like, but I’m very pleased with it.

Hope y’all are having a great Sunday!
If you had a date jar, what dates would you and your significant other put in it?
I could use a few more ideas!
Also, I’m planning on doing my VERY FIRST Vlog! It’s going to be a general “get to know me” vlog, I love having a face with a name with a voice, so I’ll just be talking about generic things about myself, but if you have ANY questions about me, my life, my time at Disney, running, Kawasaki Disease (bet you’re curiosity is getting at you now! haha), my job, my family, my pets, WHATEVER, then feel free to ask me from NOW until NOV. 12. I’ll be filming the vlog Monday night, so send me some questions friends!
It will post TUESDAY, NOV. 13!
