My Christmas Gifts

I told y’all that I’d share what I got for Christmas.  This isn’t everything, and the pictures are a little blurry, I apologize.  I still feel really new to some of this blogging stuff, but I compiled a list of some things I got for Christmas.  Our Christmas was extra special this year and I got everything I wanted and I’ve already been using a lot of it.  I didn’t include some of the smaller things that came in our Christmas basket (that’s right, we do baskets, not stockings, so what?) but I got some Holiday Coffee flavor packets, some recipe book markers, candy, socks, tea, and some other great things!  I also just realized that I forgot to include my tech-gloves that my sis got me.  They are from modcloth and are the ones you can use your iphone with! I love them.

1. two adorably cute shirts.  This is one that I wore on New Years Eve (Sorry the picture quality is way tacky!) 2 & 3. From the BF, who is wonderful! A 26″ flat screen tv, a blu ray dvd player, and a stand to put it on 4. Baking cookbooks 5. Kitchenaid Food Processor 6. Maybooks planner (no, that’s not the one I actually got, I took it off their website) 7. V is for Vengeance 8. Tangled DVD from the BF 9. Baking supplies: icing kits and bags, baking sheets and spatulas 10. Asics running pants

Special thanks to the parents, sisters, and BF for my wonderful gifts!  I loved everything I got this year and I’ve already been using most of it.  I can’t wait to get back home and put it all to great use and begin making special memories for 2013!  What a blessing!

Happy New Year with Resolutions

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Time to discuss New Year’s Resolutions!  I think their important, other people don’t, but for me, it’s like having a blank page to write a new chapter on and there is so much that can happen in this next year.  We are able to write most of our own story, but there is also so much we can’t control, so why not control what you can and make goals for yourself to better yourself in the best way possible?!
Read 30 New books
Write a memory and put it in a jar every day
(but let’s be realistic, if I do at least 3 times a week, I’ll be happy!)
Complete 2 Half-Marathon’s
(I’m training for 1 in February right now!)
Complete 1 Triathlon
(I’m pretty sure this was in the plan this past year, but I was so nervous, I can’t let that happen again!)
Eat Vegan 3 days out of the week
Complete my 26 Acts of Kindness in memory of the Sandy Hook Shooting
What are your New Year’s Resolutions?
How do you think you did in 2012?
Do you think 2013 will be better?

The last little bit of 2012!

I’m tempted to write about my New Year’s Resolutions, but I’m going to save those for tomorrow.  2012 was a crazy and great year.  We have only part of a day left to celebrate it and then we bring in the new year, 2013.  I have a lot of high hopes for 2013 and I’ll express those, like I said, tomorrow.
2012: My life changed so much!  The biggest thing I can say about 2012 is DISNEY.  I moved to Disney World and did the College Program from Jan-Aug.  I met the most AMAZING people who I still call my roommates to this day, even though they live like forever away now!  I had good work friends too.  I’ve mentioned before that I hated working at Disney and now that I’ve left, I miss it more than anything! I wish I had taken more time to enjoy what was in front of me.  I had never been to Disney World and so I also got to experience everything for the first time!  My favorite by far was the Festival of the Lion King show at Animal Kingdom and the Mount Everest ride! I then moved back to Starkville and I was happy to do so because then I could be with Nick, which was really tough while I was at Disney.  I got a job that is making a difference in a lot of lives and it’s a blessing.  It’s not the funnest or the easiest at times, but I’m thankful for it.  A lot of World Events happened this year too…. things that break my heart to this day!  The movie theater shooting in Colorado, the Hurricane along the East Coast, and the Elementary School shooting at Sandy Hook.  2012 will be a year remembered FOREVER!
Although, I pray we don’t have to endure the pain we have had to face this past year, I also pray that we get another year of successes in life, and pleasure, and fun, family, and friends… I pray that 2013 has more good than bad, has more love than hate.  I pray for a blessing over the year 2013.  I know 13 is the “unlucky” number, but I’m praying that it becomes lucky and that we all are truly blessed.  My goal is to find something good and pure in each day, a blessing in disguise or a blessing right in front of me.
I want to wish all of you, a Happy New Year!  And my prayer for you dear friends, is that you are blessed each and every day for 2013 and that no matter what happens to this country, we all stick together and grow even more united.  We’re ringing out 2012 and welcoming in 2013 tonight, let’s make 2013 wonderful!
