Friday Letters {Exhausted Style}

Photobucket

Dear Friday, thank goodness you arrived, I’ve been waiting!  Dear Friday, I’m ready for it be 5pm (or possibly sooner).  I worked a lot this week, and then last night went to a concert (maybe not the best judgement call), but it was Sister Hazel which takes me back to the 90’s and so I’m exhausted!  Dear coffee, you’re amazing… the making me melt, kind of yummy!  Dear personal life, if I could get off work just a tad bit early today, I could get some stuff done before everything else around here closes at 5pm.  Dear running shoes, I’m hoping I can strap you on today, but let’s not get carried away!  Dear unknown future, make yourself known to me!  Ok, so I’m being a little dramatic…. Dear Super Bulldog Weekend, I know you’re suppose to be a lot of fun, but the week before you and the week after you are absolutely chaotic with work and honestly, I don’t want to go out to downtown and mingle with friends and see a free concert with college students getting wasted and puking all around me… I kind of want to just chill at home, clean some, work on this project/presentation I have due on Tuesday and relax, maybe catch up on sleep because we all know that next week won’t be much better in that department!  Dear College Students, I’m not trying to be mean and all, but I’m looking forward to school ending for you (like I know you are!) and you high-tailing your rear ends out of Starkville so I can work in peace!  If it were possible to work for a University that didn’t admit students, that’d be the bomb! Well… maybe admit a few students, but just the nice ones!

Have a wonderful Friday sweet blog friends and enjoy your fabulous weekend!

In case you missed something this week:
I started a 10-day challenge and shared a recipe for Kale Chips
Find out some of the funny things my loved one said about me!
Here’s what happened in Memphis!
Here’s what I’m OK with this week

Be sure to remember to keep Boston, MA and West, TX in your thoughts and prayers!  It’s so sad what has happened in our country over just one week.  I pray that the families who are affected find comfort and peace in some way and that the good will over come the bad.

It’s OK Thursday!

Its Ok Thursdays

It’s OK…

… to take a blogging break when needed (I’ll be doing that next week, there’ll be an announcement and all)

… to love that Fitness Magazine created a triathlon training plan in their May Issue with tips/tricks!

… to learn from cooking (I should NOT have used paperliners for my muffins last night, the paper is now stuck)

… to be doing semi-well on this 10 day vegan challenge

… to feel like I got nothing done at work yesterday because it was constant go, go, go!!!

… to be so far behind on blog reading, it ain’t even funny!! I really am sorry if I’m missing y’all’s lives and the important posts y’all are writing!

… to love a good morning run!

… to hope that the tri-training plan will get me motivated to train for my first triathlon

… to pray that these 2 jobs I’m very interested in, contact me at the same time so I can have time to make an informed decision.

… to get to work at 7:30am to make your boss happy because that makes your work life easier and happy

… to be thankful for my VISTA position, I’ve met some amazing people!

… to just now realize that I can’t go to the next #alabamablogger #blate because I got an invite for a bridal shower I need to go to that afternoon.

… to have realized that last statement as I was typing out how excited I was for the next #blate

… to be over-the-moon ecstatic about going to Disney in November! I miss that place so much!!!!!

… to just NOW (5:50am, Wednesday morning) realize that I was typing this post thinking it was Thursday… it’s Wednesday, and I will now go and SCHEDULE it!

Happy Thursday friends! 🙂

Memphis Re-Cap! [FINALLY!]

Back in March, I bought tickets to see Elton John for Nick’s Birthday!  The concert was in Memphis and it was immediately after I was getting done with a work trip, so I rested as well as I could the night before for us to head out to Memphis early the next morning!  I wanted plenty of time to walk around Downtown a bit (big #FAIL) and visit Whole Foods!
*Warning: Excuse the horrible picture quality!*
Of course, because of our early morning, we had to grab a starbucks!
On our way to downtown, we were stopped in traffic and our GPS figured we should probably get out and walk instead – luckily, the traffic let up pretty quickly and we continued on our way!
Before we actually went to the concert, we walked around downtown a bit, but it was ABSOLUTELY MISERABLE!!! We didn’t consider the fact that it was the day before St. Patty’s day and there were a bunch of shenanigans going on along with the concert.  It wouldn’t have been so bad if we had known it’d be like that and could have worn different clothes and prepared ourselves for it.  Don’t get me wrong, we enjoy a good block party and celebrating the good times, but doesn’t it make it more fun when you’re expecting to do that and can wear the proper attire and meet up with some friends?  It was just us, which was still enjoyable, but would have been more exciting with a lot of friends.  So we walked around for a bit, had a drink, and then tried to find some dinner before the concert (which was a fail… we literally were up to the register after waiting in line for 30-45 minutes at Lenny’s when they announce that they have nothing but salads left, which we didn’t want)  So we left and ate at the concert instead.
 Someone was SUPER excited!!!!!
Our seats were really great!  We were straight on to the stage and had bars in front of us instead of people!
Dear Elton,  Thank you for a wonderful performance! I was able to cross “Seeing a living legend in concert” off my bucket list!! You were so much fun to watch and you played all the greats!
