Trying to Catch up!

Just for the heck of a picture, me and my beautiful sissy!

So I’m traveling for work right now.  Honestly, at night, the area I’m traveling in is WAY creepy!  So when I got to my hotel room, I double locked the door and I’m refusing to leave until the sun comes up.  What better way to spend your time locked up in a hotel room than with blogging, catching up on reading blogs, watching the food network channel while drinking a glass of wine?! Yeah, that sounds pretty fantastic, so that’s what I’m doing!  I feel like my life has been so chaotic lately with all the traveling I’ve been doing.  Seriously, how do moms do it?  I know parents who run every morning at the butt crack of dawn, work 60 hours a week, and then still find time with family and for dinner and sleep.  I don’t have anyone relying on me and yet, I find it difficult! haha  Ok, Ok, enough of the whining… let me lay out some goals I have for myself to get myself back on track to a productive life:

{ONE}
Wake up early enough to get in a workout every day
{TWO}
Use the weekends to plan meals for the week and lunches and maybe even pre-pack some lunches or pre-cook some meals
{THREE}
Plan some social time throughout the week.  I would like to have at least 3 different social activities, whether that be a date night, a girls night with a chick-flick, meeting up with friends for dinner, just something to get me out of the house!
{FOUR}
Scheduling some blog posts over the weekend for the rest of the week.

I constantly feel like I’m catching up on life, so here’s to a great rest of the week, a great weekend, and a better week next week with life on the right track!

The engagement celebration!

NO! Just wanted to make that clear… I am NOT the one engaged haha.  Two of our friends got engaged last weekend at the football game and so I decided it would be fun to throw an engagement celebration!  Let’s define that, shall we?  An engagement celebration is NOT a shower, there are no gifts, it is just a party to celebrate the fact that they are engaged.  So I had roughly three days to plan this event.  It was going to be at Nick’s apartment and we were decorating and having some finger food.  I invited about twenty-five people, of which I only knew like 6!  I, being the wonderful planner that I am, turned to pinterest for some pinspiration!  It wasn’t super extravagant, and believe me, I wish I had a fabulous budget to go all out with or the fabulous time to shop for decorations and get it all together.  I was pleased with what I was able to do working full time and getting it all organized though.  {Last week was WAY stressful!}

This was my outfit that day (I’m terrible with lighting!)
Shirt: Ohh La La, a boutique
Pants: LA Green, a boutique
Boots: Khols
And a starbucks goes with any outfit!

The lovely couple and I (in the middle!)

We strung lights on the ceiling and I put tealights inside of apples

On the menu: avocado salsa/blue corn chips, nutella cookies, pumpkin cookies, pimento cheese finger sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches, peanut butter and chocolate popcorn, and cocktail sausages

The pumpkins we carved for Nathan and MK!  They turned out the best, everyone loved them!

We strung lights outside of the apartment, it really looks beautiful y’all, pictures do not do it justice!! Besides, I’m no where near a great photographer!

A solid look into the apartment!

The party turned out great, we had a great showing, plenty of room for people to mingle and chat and we played the Mumford and Sons Pandora Station (score!)

Now, I’ve decided after what I could whip up in 3 days, I’m going to throw a Christmas Party and I have so much more time to prepare!! Pinterest is getting hit hard right now!!

Hope you’re having a wonderful Monday, this week is proving to be already super busy for me, so I promise I’ll try to keep up with what I can on the blogs!!

P.S. Be sure to check out my NEW link-up that I started this week, you can read about it {here}
