Happy Monday sweet friends!
Here’s a quick weekend recap: I worked Friday and Saturday. Spent the evenings working on a Marketing Plan that I need to deliver next week. Went to church Sunday and continued hearing about miracles. We learned about a beautiful miracle that happened within our church and I was full on crying by the end of the service. This sweet lady behind me, tapped me on the shoulder and handed me a tissue. In my blubbering mess, I laughed and thanked her, then turned around to continue worshipping. When I turned around again, she was gone. There is probably a very logical explanation as to why she was no longer there – She could have been wearing something different than the black and white sweater I remember her wearing and I just didn’t recognize her… she could have left the service early for something… she could have scooted off to the bathroom – but because we’re learning about miracles and we’re listening about angels coming to talk with Elizabeth and Mary, I’m going to believe she was an angel sent to offer me a kleenex to dry my face off because she literally disappeared! After church, I went home and had lunch with my parents. Then I worked on this Marketing Plan some more. I went to the store to purchase some materials to put the plan in for when I finish. THEN…. around 7:30pm…. Vanessa and Nick both made it home! I’m so excited to have my sisters and Nick in town for a few weeks now that classes are finally over. I won’t be bored and lonely all the time haha. Nick and I went to have dinner at his brother’s house where they drew names for Christmas. Then we went to Nick’s house and watched some tv, then sporadically decided on a trip to Kroger to rent a redbox (we had a code that expired that night) and picked up a small frozen pizza. It ended up being a great night!
How do you do gift giving with your significant other? I think for most people it varies. This year, Nick and I are taking a trip to Disney with his family, so we decided not to spend money on actual gifts because we want to have extra money to spend at Disney. For any special occasion, we’ll sometimes go the rough of a trip. We like making trips together. We have our differences and there are times that he frustrates me to no end because we are complete opposite when it comes to “being on time” and other similar Type A things for me, but we have NEVER had issues with taking long trips together. We enjoy each others company the entire time, we never run out of things to talk about, we always have fun! I’m excited to go back to Disney and actually have time to spend in all the parks. It’ll be my first time seeing Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom!

| And this seems to be the only picture I have from our last trip together…. I MUST fix this issue this time around. I will be overwhelmed with the amount of pictures I bring back. |
So there are times when Nick and I decide to not give gifts because we’d rather take a trip. We did that for his birthday this past year too, when we went and saw Elton John in concert. I have a difficult time not giving anything at all though – and because I know Nick doesn’t read this little piece of my life, I feel that I can share this…. I have a small gift up my sleeve. I’m putting together a small box of goodies that we enjoy on road trips. It’ll have our travel essentials which basically means candy and chips! haha So it’s like a gift for both of us, but at least gives him something to open on Christmas Day!
I’ve also promised to send roughly a thousand snap chats to Meg while I’m at Disney!
Do you have a gift giving system? Or are you like us, just whatever you feel like that year depending on funds and availability? Do you take trips as gifts? If you do take a trip, are you like me, where you still have to get something small?

My boyfriend and I do gifts, but what and the size typically depends on money and if we have anything else planned. I like to do things together rather than get actual gifts from him!
I am so excited for you about your trip!!!! I cannot wait for all those snaps!!! Gift giving for me to Mike is a year round thing. I tend to try and buy him things he would never buy himself. If we walk into a store and he says, “oh, this is cool” or “I’d love this,” I sneak away and write whatever it is in the note pad in my phone. This way, he doesn’t see me buy it, thinks I’m awesome that I remembered he liked it (bonus points for me!!), I can shop around for the best price, AND I don’t forget before I get the chance to buy… I have the worst memory ever!
Tim and I are the same way with gifts. Sometimes it’s less, sometimes it’s more. It just depends on the year and the funds and what we want. We’ve done trips before too. Disney will be fun. I want to go to Disney for Christmas one year soon.
We have no particular system for gifts, it really varies. In past years we’ve bought more for each other than this year because we were working on setting up our house…this year we’re looking at moving before too long so we’re a little more motivated NOT to accumulate new things that we’d have to pack. 🙂
At least the picture is a cute one! Have fun at Disney. You know I’m jealous. 🙂
I LOVE finding the perfect gift to give Jt for Christmas! I usually try to come up with something that I KNOW he would LOVE and that he would never ever think of! It’s SO SO SO much fun! This year I got really carried away with it because I starting finding his gifts this summer! Like seriously, the boy go hooked up! Like seriously, I’m kind of jealous! HA!
